Bloodborne is the cover story of this week's Famitsu, and there's an interview with Miyazaki in it as well. Here are some details reported by a Japanese blog who got the magazine early.

    - Spring 2015 release window
    - They started work on this right after finishing Artorias of the Abyss, planning it for Sony's new hardware
    - The world and story is completely new, and the setting takes full advantage of the PS4's capabilities
    - The expected spec for the game is 30fps at 1080p
    - The keywords for the game is "blood" and "beast"
    - There will be melee and long range weapons (guns) this time
    - Character customization is confirmed
    - There will be no map display in the game
    - He wants combat to not just focus on action but also the strategic element
    - The combat in the game is designed to feel like a life or death struggle
    - There will be online elements of some sort, and it will involve players "discovering" together

    Mario Maker?

A skylanders/infinity type thing for the nfc characters I believe, which could tie into Mario maker if they announce it today (which I see no reason why they wouldn't since the last direct went into a bit of detail on the hardware).

IMO it'd be absolutely huge for them. Lbp meets spark in Nintendo's universe with figures compatible with a broad range of Nintendo titles. License to print money when they go Pokemon on it

You should be aware that the overwhelming majority of players are only dimly aware that trophies exist because occasionally a notification pops up to tell them they accidentally got one, and then they go back to not giving a solitary fuck and enjoying the game.

Let's be honest, Bloodborne really should be called Bloodporn or Bloodhorn.

Well, that's put me in my box so.

Also, what the hell was with that MGS5 trailer?! Let us all smear the ashes of dead people on our faces for it is cheaper than foundation make-up! The only answer I can think of is: Japan.

Hah, I didn't mean it like that. What I meant was that a low number of people having the trophy doesn't really mean that it's hard to get if you care / try. :o

What was with Big Boss and the prosthetic arm?? I don't recall him having that in MGS4 when he shows up with Zero. Did he "grow" it back with nano machines or something by then. Stem cell tech maybe?? Also Master Miller missing an arm and a leg. Lots of questions to be answered.

    Well, in MGS4
they transplanted a lot of Solidus' organs/limbs to bring Big Boss back (he was still alive but in very bad condition after his fight with Solid Snake in MG2). So the arm could have been Solidus'. As for Master Miller though, no idea.

    30fps ??? :(
Get used to it; it's the only way most console games will get 1080p this generation.

Anything that makes you hold the GamePad up like that is NOT the way Nintendo need to go.

Having only got a WiiU a week ago I agree. Please N, no motion in this.

    Really looking forward to nintendo.

I bet I'm going to wish I had the spare money and cash to pick up a Wii U after :(

My one worry is even if they do have a good show, it still might not help them.

Really think that devs have to start giving console gamers that option in game. Give me 720p and 60 frames over 1080p and 30 frames any day of the week.

On a topic mentioned a few times, I feel CG trailers are a necessary evil. Everyone wants assurances that the old reliables (and others besides) are on the way, an a trailer is a more tangible way of announcing that than just flashing a logo on the screen. Gameplay would be nice, but as Watch_Dogs (and even Dark Souls II) proves throwing resources into the development of an extravagant demo a year or more before release - well before the inevitable technical compromises or artistic changes have to be made - is a troublesome path. At least with a rendered trailer it's more like a 'sizzle reel', something that suggests mood and style without making any overt promises (although I will be disappointed if I can't ride a motorbike up a collapsing skyscraper in Crackdown!). Many games don't come 'click' or become presentable until a late stage in development, so a teaser is a better intro than something underwhelming or unfinished.

As for 'honesty' and the press conferences being little more than a 'look at us our games are great!' fest, well that's exactly what it is and there's not really any indications to the contrary. Always be aware E3's attendees are first and foremost very much trying to sell you a product, not discourage you or provide an objective critique or representation of any given game. Expecting something more impartial is like expecting a movie poster to boast about the negative reviews instead of the positive ones :pac: It's what has put me off watching the press conferences, and just catching up on announcements after the fact.

People really need to give this feature a read as even a primer to this debate. It's far from as simple as some folk are making it out to be.

Looks like that's just the way he's holding it, for effect for pictures basically. He's controlling it with the thumbsticks
