Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Waterproof overcoat.

Most of my gear is waterproof enough for my daily use. However im planning a tour this year which will involve a day or two of traveling though the alps which I assume will contain a higher chance of rain!!

Anyway I don't want to spend a fortune on 100% waterproof gear and especially since its the summer I want to wear my light gear.

Does anyone have any light weight overcoat and trousers that they would recommend. Id like something I can just stuff into pocket in my saddle bags and wont take up much room. Basically something I can just throw on over my protective gear on the side of the road if I get caught in an unexpected and sustained shower.

Comes fairly well recommended anywhere I've seen this question asked. Will be picking one up in a few months myself.

That's good value but I'd like to have two pieces. The Richa stuff looks pretty good. Only adds up to 50 for the two pieces.

Get it in a big size otherwise it'll be very tight over the leathers/textile!

Bring a 2nd pair of gloves that are 100% waterproof, nothing worse than putting your hands back into a wet pair of gloves.

I bought one of these and it is 100% waterproof, I can carry tissues in the pockets in a rainstorm and it stays dry.

Might be a bit on the dear side but it is very high quality

Careful with the sizing of waterproof over-clothes. I bought a size larger than my usual, thinking that I'd need that for it to fit over my normal gear. But the bastids outsmarted me and make over-clothing a size bigger anyway.

I would rather have it snug then too big. I got mine a size up and its great until you are "moving" especially on long journeys as it flaps when the wind catches it and it can make your arms very tired and numb from the vibrations after about 1hr+.

I went with the Richa Warrior jacket and trousers. Got them for about 70gbp total. Easy to put on in a hurry even with the boots still on. I spent 600km today in heavy rain and I got to my destination bone dry.
