Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Here use the discount code TDX-JGCV

Great price but is that including what parcel motel will charge you as they charge extra for large/heavy items.

    Product Height 592.0 Millimetre
    Product Width 891.0 Millimetre
    Product Depth 208.0 Millimetre
    Product Weight 14.0 Kilogram

    Read more at http://www.tesco.com/direct/Blaupunkt%2039/210%2039%20Inch%20Full%20HD%201080P%20LED%20TV%20With%20Freeview/130-0794.prd#2xMG5DdxGwK2xcxx.99

If we add a little to be safe and call it 70cm x 1m x 25cm for the box, dimensional weight would be 58kg, about €37 to pick up from a Nightline Depot or €49 for door-to-door.

    Dont think its Smart

    An alternative to smart
    is a Set top box Android Box, approx 70 euro ;

You then connect the box to your HDMI port

The android box, will give u much better web access,
    Pinch and zoom,
you will have Chrome (and of course you will see your browser short cuts etc) and not have to use a TV browser

Huge choice of apps with Android, the choice of TV apps, v limited

I have a smart TV, a fairly recent model, and the interface is nowhere near Android

Think it works out at 36kg which is 24euro delievered

Freeview TV sets from UK only support MPEG2 (unlike Freeview+HD) so forget about Saorview which is MPEG4.

I bought a 32 inch LG TV with freeview from Amazon and it worked with Saorview .

    Android set top box

One of the more expensive, but includes a good keyboard and web cam for skype
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpGAwog63U8
(most smart TVs dont have have a webcam)

This link might be a bit out of date, but the guys on the android forum will have more recent info
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056926930

    https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=android+tv+box

I think Android set top box , beats most Smart TVS for ease of use, app choice and features

That'll fix the poor audio so. Use the Hifi for audio from the raspberry pi already so can use headphone out for the TV

The sound is great to me. The picture is brilliant and it can tune in either Saorview or Freeview but not both together

And thanks for that!! Just ordered one yesterday.

By the way, where do you find these codes? Are they on a website somewhere? I could see that being useful in other situations too.

    Hi
Im interested in this tv but hopeless on techie stuff.

Can I just clarify if I can get Saorview with this tv?

I also plan to hook it up to my sky satellite (without subscription) for the free to air stations. Is this ok to do too?

It will bring in Saorview along with new text service and it will connect to your sky box as long as you have the proper hdmi/scart lead.

yes, either an indoor or an outdoor depending on your location

To be clear, this TV supports Freeview And Saorview.

Are you definitely receiving RTE1 HD and RTE 2 HD?

The Tesco online spec says it has no Freeview HD tuner. Also one of the reviews says the same. Thanks.

RTE1 HD and RTE2 HD on Saorview use MPEG4 DVB-T

Not to be confused with FreeviewHD, which uses MPEG4 DVB-T2. To receive Freeview (TM), you need to be in an area that can receive Freeview overspill from NI or UK.

Understood but is anyone actually receiving RTE1 HD and RTE 2 HD with this set?
