Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's the worst film you've ever seen?

Was just reading a thread on another site there where people were listing their worst ever films and it got me thinking of the worst film I ever saw.

For me, it was a film called 'Nothing But Trouble', which was Dan Aykroyd's one and only attempt at directing. Jesus, it was bad. I think it even won a razzie award the year it came out. Many films have come close, but nothing has ever beaten the sheer, jaw dropping awfulness of that film yet for me.

What film tops the all time shit-o-meter for you?

    Dracula 3000 was pretty bad.

I watched it with a group of friends, at first we thought it was a really bad comedy film but apparently it was suppose to be a serious horror film set on a spaceship complete with a cape wearing Dracula!!!

Wag the Dog with Dustin Hoffmann, pure unadulterated plap.

    Plan 9 from outer space.

People told me, watch it, it's a cult classic and all that.

What a crock of crap it was.

Also all these superhero films are getting seriously ****.

The first Spider-Man from about 10 years ago and The Dark knight were okay, I've hated the rest I've seen.

I had such high hopes for this but ended up walking out of the cinema absolutely bewildered

films can be 'bad' for a lot of reasons but the only one that actually makes me angry is Requiem for a Dream. It's the perfect example of artistic and intellectual failure and when any 'cinema fan' mentions it as one of their favorites I instantly lose all respect for them

Tropic Thunder, fell asleep in the cinema due to boredom.

    Grown Ups
Scary Movie 3,4,5 (1 and 2 are bearable)
    White Chicks
Paranormal Activity. Couldn't see what all the fuss was about. Terrible production values and not particularly scary.
    Happy Gilmore

I remember a Tom Arnold film called The Stupids.
Fell asleep in the cinema watching it.

Anything on Sky Movies during the day, tbh. If they have to show it 74 times a week it's not worth the bother.

It's not too bad if you look at it as a comedy, I don't think it is the intended genre though.

Ah yeah directed by B movie legend Ed Wood, horrendous low budget garbage that was panned by critics in the 50s. A good selection of his films are considered cult classics. Is it the so bad it's good rule? or maybe we just don't get it. :pac:

Some films are so bad they're good.

It's mediocre ones that you really hate.

In terms of stuff with a big enough budget:

Armageddeon was a disgrace to cinema.

Se7en was s steaming pile of crap.

    Troy was bad beyond description.

Saw a film the other day called The Ides of March. For the cast (Clooney, Seymour Hoffman, Gosling, Giamatti) it was very formulaic and lame. Actually, Gosling is a woeful actor.

Disaster Movie. I know that genre of films are generally crap, but good god this was a whole new level.

I've seen a tonne of just incompetently made films that I was more or less indifferent about but here's some films I actively hated:

    Babel
    Charlie Casanova
    Crash
    Eden Lake
    The Impossible
    The Passion of the Christ
Salo or the 120 Days of Sodom
    Slumdog Millionaire

    Se7en and Tropic Thunder? Really?

I know taste is subjective, but people really need to see some really bad films

There must of been some technical aspects you enjoy in even a film you don't like!

A very on form Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman.

    A great supporting cast

    Anne Heche
    Denis Leary
    A young Kirsten Dunst
    William H. Macy!

And then small, almost cameo roles from Willie Nelson and Woody Harrelson?

A great script, a cool soundtrack from Mark Knophler, 85% on Rotten Tomatoes?

    Whats not to love?!

Suffice to say a film I rewatch every couple of years. Love it ;)

    It didn't.

Not a popular opinion, I know. I just hated it, hated the pathetic attempts to set a tone with constant rain and darkness, hated the dialogue, hated everything.

    Sin City
and 300 can be added to the list.

    300: Rise of an Empire

I went along for the evening that was in it... I knew that it was never going to win any Oscars, but jaysus; the acting was awful and that on top of the 'storyline'. I'm not one to engage in conspiracy theories, but everything in it was geared towards deamonising the Middle/East. White Greek Democracy vs. Brown Arab cruelty.

Just shambolic. There have been films that have let me down more, in that I expected good things and got something ok, but that was simply the worst for something that was attempting to be half decent.
