If you're ever in London, the M&M Store (yes, you read that right) in Leicester Square will be up your street - four (!) floors of M&M merchandise...and M&M's too :D

Oh I'm definitely visiting there next time I'm in London.

In the name of God how could they take away a Medical Card from this child????

    This is just morally wrong....

Probably taken away because a TD gave 10 medical cards out to local muppets he looks after that don't financially need them.

Imagine with all going with that family and the stress involved you have to practically beg on National Television for a Med/Card for your child......

This is the kind of banana republicism we are up against, TD's giving a list to the minister of who should get a medical card...
“We’ve asked the TDs to give a list of any of the hard cases they have, the ones that they feel should have been given cards or ones that have had tremendous difficulty in relation to compiling information for the PCRS [Primary Care Reimbursement Service, which administers the scheme] only to find that information has been misplaced,”. said Dr Reilly

I think they are having a full day of them ... Sonny and Cher were on earlier.

The cheap music bio-pics are always cheesy but usually entertaining.

The Medical Card System is the problem, it's a terrible system. If you have one it's a Golden Ticket where you get everything for next to nothing, and you pay less USC.

If you don't then it's tough s*it. But if your TD thinks there's votes in it he seems to be able to magic them out of thin air.

It should be graduated and parents of seriously sick children should get help, regardless of their income.

Families like those save the state a fortune by caring for their very ill children at home. A medical card is very necessary to help them care for their child at home.

It would be much more expensive if state had yo pay for him in residential care.

As she said the health board have better access to the medical equipment their little boy needs. There surely has to be another way around saving money, maybe put a scaling levy on the card instead of taking it away.

Exactly, some people who have them take the pi$$ and go to the doctor for little issues that could be solved at a pharmacy. Then you have people just outside of the threshold keeping their visits for them and their kids to the absolute minimum as they don't have the €55 fee for the 5 minute visit.

    That's a good point.

I always think items like this are more suited to daytime TV rather than Saturday night 'entertainment' shows.

But if going on the SNS highlights the problem to a wider audience then it serves a greater purpose.

Are they still on by the way, or will I stay on Sky Sports for the last 3 minutes of the Italian All Ireland?
