Hey I live in Melbourne CBD and would like to know the nearest beach to go surfing and if I could rent a board and suit there also. I'm a disaster with this city ! Thanks.

Most of the beaches in Port Philip Bay are crap.

Sorrento might be your best bet.

If you can though, head south west to Torquay just outside Geelong, Bells Beach is one of the most famous surf beaches in the world.

Ya there doesn't seem to be much surfing options in Melbourne itself. Will try feeling alright. Thanks a mill
