Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does a hairdresser/dentist/beauty therapist's appearance affect you booking with them

    Random q:
Does the appearance of a beauty therapist, hairdresser, nail tech, dentist affect whether or not you book an appointment with them?

For example if you were looking to book a nail appointment, would you book with a nail tech with huge tacky nails? Would you be nervous of being treated by a dentist with big fake white teeth in case yours turned out the same?
If your hairdresser had an awful cut would you question their judgement on what will look good on you?

I recently was looking into semi permanent eyebrows and avoided any therapists with dodgy eyebrow tattoos. I would worry that if they think that looks good on them, they won't know what will look good on me. Am I the only one who does this? :o

I think we all do this subconsciously. I have brazenly asked a hairdresser in a salon I used to use who did her hair, then asked which days that girl worked, then asked for an appointment on her day off :) Not quite as obvious about it as that in fairness, I like to think i was subtle! But I'd be more concerned about making sure I'm having my hair done by someone who gives a good cut than one who has a good cut.

There is a girl in a local beauty spa who wears a mask of orange foundation, and paints on these ridiculous pale pink shiny lips, where she wishes her lips were, I think. I just cannot bring myself to go there. I have met her through acquaintances, and she seems lovely, but like the OP, if she has such a lack of awareness around what looks good, I won't let her mess with my face!

Yes I would take note though may not notice until I was actually getting hair colour/nails done so I'd prob be basing my opinion more on the outcome of my own appointment at that stage. Panic may ensue mid way through appointment if they did not have good standard themselves though! Also it's something I note in exercise classes too, whether the teacher has a good body shape/form and have discontinued classes in the past based on this!
