    Anyone had this done?
It's semi permanent eyebrows but they draw on individual hairs as opposed to drawing on one big line.

Apparently it's been popular in Asia for years.

Yes, had it done on Saturday so early days, but as I had plucked my eyebrows to bits, it's amazing to take off make up and actually have eyebrows!! And of course not having to draw them on every morning. They fade up to 70% in the first 4 weeks so you can make any changes to them before getting them done again and then 4 weeks later again to last up to 2 years. Mine have faded a good bit already so am going to ring them today and see if it's normal to fade so quickly. But as I said, early days and v happy. Some of the girls in there have it done so you can go in and see it on a real person before deciding, rather than relying on before and afters.

Awesome!!! Does using makeup remover over them make them fade at all?
If you're brave enough, would LOVE to see a before and after pic of them :)
I wear contacts, do they touch your eye itself much during the procedure or are they only touching the eyebrow area?

I wear contacts too and they only touch the brow area. I left mine in during procedure. They fade after the first application but as far as I know you can use all normal products after the full 3 procedures.

I'd be very interested in how much they should fade by. What did they say Cleanslate? Do you mind me asking how much it was?

it's 260 for the first appointment, then 120, then 60 (all 4 weeks apart from each other) look at embrowdery.ie

it's expensive, but I had plucked my eyebrows so much that they were non existent. It is amazing to have eyebrows when I take off my makeup. And I can be comfortable doing activities where they would rub off. I was on an adventure day last year and had to wear a motorcycle helmet, I was worried the whole time that an eyebrow had rubbed off when I put it on or that it would when I took it off. After the 3 appointments, the brows last for 18 months to 2 years.
They fade 50-70% after the first time which is great as I am not totally happy with the shape so we can fix it slightly at my next appointment. If you google 'embrowdery' or search on facebook and twitter, you will see a few blogs by people who have had it done. I thought long and hard about getting it done and am happy with it.
I have been thinking about eyebrow tattoo for the last 6 years but have seen such horrific results that I couldn't believe it when I saw this alternative.

Same. I'm so tired of leaving the gym with no eyebrows, or noticing in the middle of the night out that I'm missing part of one and look like Shane Lynch circa 1998 :O

Same too :) I've seen so many eyebrow tattoos that are just a hard shiny line, awful. Embrowdery looks amazing.

Well I've had my first session of Embrowdery done now.. love them! They've faded a good bit in the first few days though. Reckon I'll need the full 3 sessions to get enough colour to stick, maybe even 4 if they're still not dark enough (I've very dark hair).

Delighted you are happy with them! Isn't it amazing to take off make up and have eyebrows!!! I was religious with the vaseline stuff and I didn't lose any strokes. Also mine haven't faded much more since the first few days. Can't wait for next session :)

Yeah I'm only a few days in so hoping they won't fade much more than they have already, which isn't even a huge amount. Am considering getting them done a bit thicker next time! Yeah it's amazing to not have to pencil them in every morning!

Would you mind posting a photo?

Id love this! But id like to see a 'normal' person rather than an advertisement :)

I don't want my photo on a public site tbh but if you check their Facebook page you can see real people who have given permission for their photos to be used. Also you can pop into the salon at any time, some of the girls have had it done, including the girl on reception who is always there

Hi ladies, could you please tell me if you can wear makeup/foundation around the area the next day after the procedure? I actually have a wedding to attend 2 days after I plan to have my first Embrowdery appointment, would u recommend rescheduling the appointment or should they look ok? Will there be noticeable redness or flaking? Is there an aftercare procedure? Would so appreciate a response

  • Registered Users Posts: 95 ✭✭cleanslate

Hi, you can wear makeup the next day and there is no redness or flaking but if it was me, having had it done, I would re-arrange the appointment until after the wedding for 2 reasons:

    1. You have to apply a vaseline type of 'aftercare' every 3 hours for the first 3 days and then only morning and evening. This is to make sure the colour doesn't dry out and flake off. Even doing this and being so gentle one stroke came off on me. This procedure is fine and you can go out and all, its not v noticeable but before you reapply the aftercare, you have to remove the old stuff. This is no problem for day to day stuff but not for wedding make up.

    2. You might not be 100% happy with the result after the first appointment. I wasn't. I went from a drawn on thin unnatural eyebrow shape to a thicker more natural shape and it took me a while to get used to it. I had my second application on Saturday and I absolutely love them but I would not have been comfortable at anything public after the first ones! They faded quite quickly tho and I had to start pencilling them in again so on Sat we got the perfect shape
I'm in work today so I will have vaseliney brows for the day but it's too expensive to not follow the aftercare procedure exactly and risk damaging them in the first 3 days.

Hope that helped, just my own opinion :)

Cleanslate, can you remember if there are any aftercare instructions regarding exercise/working out ie can sweat damage the embrowdery? My friend has asked me to help her start running next week and can't remember if exercise is OK after x number of days or not.

  • Registered Users Posts: 95 ✭✭cleanslate

it just says no sunbed or pool for 48 hours. The aftercare is the same procedure after each appointment. Doesn't mention exercise, but they are happy to answer any questions, you can ring or email them

Hi Ladies, I got the eyebrow embroidery done a week ago. My eyebrows are still peeling, however, the colour appears to be extremely faint, in fact you can't see any strokes just the outline. Naturally I'm fair haired and obviously I wanted a light natural colour but this looks too light to the point I can't see any hair strokes? It doesn't look like any of the beautiful after pics u see on the net :( Is this normal? I'm concerned about this and really considering not going back for top up. How long does it take to disappear without going back for required top up?? I'm beginning to think it should have left well alone!!!!

I wasn't 100% happy with mine the way they compared o the beautiful before/after pictures I saw either. And I still have to draw them on, but I am very glad I got them done as I have some eyebrows now, where I barely had any before.

I emailed them constantly with updates on how mine were doing, even though I did the aftercare regime by the book.

After I was finished my 3 appointments, I still wasn't 100% happy so they did a 4th free of charge for me, but I had the back up of having emailed them all along.

I don't know whether it was the girl who did mine or whether it was my skin (they told me) it is pretty normal skin, nothing unusual but they prob weren't admitting that it just didn't seem to work as well on me. I do think it was the girl though. Elaine herself did the last (free of charge) one and it lasted longer than the first 3.

Stick with it as they are completely different after the full treatment to what they are after the first, but DO email them and let them know.
    Hope this helped :)

Thanks for your quick reply. I got mine done in Cork and they have a really good reputation. The shape is great but it's just the fact it looks incredibly faint and I cannot see any hair strokes, just a faint colour on my skin. Maybe when they fully peel, it might look ok but I have my doubts. Maybe this is normal after the first treatment but do you know how quick it disappears if I decided to not go with second treatment??

  • Registered Users Posts: 95 ✭✭cleanslate

No unfortunately not, but I would definitely contact them and ask maybe to go with a darker colour. I think you have to wait 3 weeks or so before they do it again. See what tehy say as they should be really dark to begin with and then fade. Mine did fade really quickly but I could still see them.

My Mam had it done by Elizabeth Oakes who did a great job. My Mam literally had no eyebrows left from years of over plucking. It cost her €300 and a top up cost €120 but she didn't need it as they didn't fade much at all.

Here's her website if anyone wants to find out more information and there's lots of before and after photos on her Facebook page (link above).

You had EmBrowdery done in Cork. Can you tell me where please as I cannot find a Practitioner in Cork. On Embrowdery.ie you can check the Specialists drop down list and there is nobody working in Munster.
