Ha! wasn't gonna say anything :) It's "morning" somewhere!

I overheard a rumour that a candidate in Kilcock was asked to leave the polling station yesterday as they were standing outside asking for votes!!

Don't think there's anything other than a tally for Athy yet - this is from KFM at 11:40am.

    FF's Martin Miley: 17%: 1708
    Lab's Mark Wall: 15%: 1501
    FF's Mark Dalton: 13%: 1336
    Lab's Aoife Breslin: 12%: 1189
    FG's Ivan Keatley: 12%: 1158
    FG's Richard O'Rourke: 9%: 900
    SF's Thomas Redmond: 8%: 820
    SF's Ger Kelly: 8%: 784
    FG's Richard Daly: 6%: 573

No independents seems extremely odd; but I checked the notice of poll and there wasn't.

KCCs twitter has it that the three surpluses elected nobody - and McGuire is now eliminated. Indepedent only has the first two supluses up - Welds went mostly to Tim Durkan and Seamus Langan as expectable and McEvoys was very spread with maybe a slight geographic bias. Cronin's surplus was not large so its fairly insignificant where it went (edit: to Grehan mostly, 20 of the 61)

I'd imagine McGuires will go to other left-wing independents and Gannon will be next out unless he gets a huge transfer from her. Teresa Murray likely to be the next elected.

Fifth up, nobody elected (wasn't expecting it), Gannon eliminated. Don't know the transfer shares yet.

edit: McGuire sent more to Murray than anyone else - she could be elected on the next possibly but I suspect nobody will be and McNamara will go.

Sixth count, Murray elected, McNamara eliminated as remaining surplus insufficient to bring her ahead of Ben Doyle. No figures as yet.

Its likely that McGinley will now be elected with McNamara's transfers, Ben Doyle is likely to be eliminated after that. Not sure if it'll continue much longer overnight but we don't always stop in Kildare.

edit: Gannon's transfers went mostly to Murray, then Grehan and Paul Ward. Ben Doyle will need to get 165 more transfers than Seamus Langan to not go out next. Resumes at 9:30am.

Celbridge count is interesting at the moment. Looks like Brendan Young is in - interest there for me as I know him personally. Looks like they're going to finish it out tonight.

I'd have loved to keep everyone up to date yesterday from the count but was too busy tallying crunching numbers so I only put updates on Teresa's facebook. Was a fun, if long, day. 12.30 am was the last count last night when Teresa was elected and then we went celebrating :)
Pity Martin didn't get in - would have rathered him than Naoise. He just didn't get enough 1st prefs and the gap was too large to bridge.

Indo website has all the transfers. Mostly stayed within party and independent to independent, hence why so many were elected without reaching the quota.

Now that Sinn Fein have had a "Carlsberg" election, I wonder what, (or whom) , the Sunday Independent will have to go after now?.

Shinner joke: 'For the last few months there have been more articles about Sinn Fein in the Independent Newspapers than in An Phoblacht!.' (Not always complimentary, mind you.)

The man who had a thread on here Martin Grehan done better than I expected. I wonder did having a thread on boards bolster or hinder his chances and the numbers he got.
