Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    http://www.footballdirectnews.com/premier-league-news/48505-barcelona-offer-midfielder-to-man-united.php

If he could be got for that fee he would be a very good squad addition.

United need quality, and in an ideal world the team would be next season and I can only afford 6 players :P

    de Gea
    Rafael--Evans--Hummels--Shaw
    Carvalho---Kroos----
    Muller
    Mata
    Reus
    RVP

I don't know if Rooney will survive, he could help finance some of the signings, and I think Hummels and Shaw could be too expensive but if United have the money...
The thing is if United did buy them players it would set them up for years, one big outlay and then lesser needed to be spent for a number of years.
    Hummels 25 years old
    Shaw 18
    Kroos 24
    Carvalho 22
    Muller 24
    Reus 24.

I think with Van Gaal we can get three of them - Shaw, Kroos and Muller.
Talk that Carvalho is going nowhere but maybe that is to up his price???
Hummels I doubt and the same with Reus.

So, I did think LVG would be officially announced today, but figured it would have happened by now, so I expect it to be tomorrow at this stage.

Muller and Kroos are real possibilities with LVG, they were given their big chance by Van Gaal and that trust by LVG could be repaid this summer.

The Dortmund players I think, small chance to no chance.

So City might be fined £50,000,000 ... I don't think that will stop them from spending.. they need points removed or something.. Fines won't slow them down.. not when the owner has so much money..

So Vidic, Rio, Evra, Giggs and God knows who else could be making their final OT appearances tonight. Despite what has gone on this season, it will be a little sad to see them go.

ya its because PSG are a world wide brand and stuff and so much so they back-dated the sponsorship and are easily worth that

also take a wild guess who works for PSG
    Laurent Platini (platini's son)

Fining a club run by multi billionaires is pointless, but then I'd imagine there's a standard set of punishments for clubs that break the rules.

yes that's why they are being investigated as well along with 9 other clubs. prob just get a fine like city..... still wont stop them bidding 180m on Ronaldo or messi come summer though!!

It's the 21 player squad limitation that's a potential biggy for them.

True certain players might not join if they think they won't get a cl place

Dock them points in the league, or disqualify them from CL. It's the only way to deal with them.

City currently have the best squad in England, and They'll probably go out and spend 150M in the summer.

It's ridiculous at this stage. They're simply buying the title. And it's the same in France.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,999 ✭✭✭Backstreet Moyes

Giggs talked about playing the United way when he took over. Well tonight he should finally do that instead of the same old crap in his first two games. Last home game go out attack and batter them.

    DDG

    Rafael Jones Smalling Buttner

    Carrick Fellaini

    Nani Mata Kagawa

    RVP

and the real sad part is that we gifted them their first title and if they go on to win it this year, it will be the year we had our worst season in 25 years.

Would you put club rivalry (ala MUFC v LFC) ahead of the 'ridiculous' way they are 'buying' the title?

Im gonna have a prediction for tonights line up

    DDG
    Jones Rio Vidic Evra
    Valencia Carrick Giggs Young
    Welbeck Hernandez

If Giggs doesnt start himself put in Cleverley

It'll never happen as a first offence to a big club imo.

Btw, anyone know ewhere the fines go? 60m isn't peanuts!

There's only so long that a club like United could hold out against that type of spending.
Wouldn't be surprised to see the likes of Mangala and Farbregas going to the Ethihad in the summer. Sooner or later, they'll be virtually unplayable.

Although, I've been saying since the Arab took over City, that it would all in end in tears for the club. Still think it will.
