Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Telegraph reported it about an hour ago too, couldn't see him picking us over Arsenal though, or anyone for that matter

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

If he does leave Barca for England then it's either back to Arsenal or to City now that Yaya is on his way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,721 ✭✭✭Al Capwned

    Arsenal.

I will NOT get in any way hopeful over this fecker again. :)

Yeah, I'd be amazed if it wasn't for Arsenal. :/

I think I remember reading that Arsenal have first refusal on him if he does leave so it's more than likely that he'll end up there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

    Fcuk it

Pay the buyout clause and offer him £200k per week and see what he says! We have room on our wage bill to absorb that now.

If Utd are saying they're not interested its because they've already got an answer from him.

I was on r/reddrils, having a look for a link to the Fabregas stuff. Here's one...

Or I'm having another brain fart.

go woodward go, do not f*ck this up.

DeGea and Mata can be of assistance.

Fully believe he wanted to join us last year, just wouldn't demand a move. No way we were bidding for him without encouragement.

Favourites to sign him, no way he's going to pick us without CL over City or a return to Arsenal...

Do Arsenal need him any more? Don't their priorities lie in other positions?

I'd say there's a decent chance he will end up at Utd.

It's hard to turn your nose up at a player like him though, and it would be a morale boost to bring him "home"...

If Fabregas goes back to Arsenal then we should see how Wilshere is feeling about that!
Although his injury problems would be a big risk

    And his lack of ability.

Though Arsenal are pretty stacked in midfield and former captain coming back after fcuking off and failing elsewhere may cause a little unrest

    I hope

If we didn't want kroos I don't see why fabregas would be more appealing.

I'd have either in a heartbeat but feck knows what LVG wants in a midfielder if Kroos doesn't fit the bill.

I dont believe that. I reckon if Kross was available, he didnt want to come to utd. Utd are most likely spinning it

Fair enough, believe what you will. I believe LVG decided against kroos.

Why Mitch? Why would LVG turn down a player that can turn our CM around? Granted he wouldnt be my first choice but he's still a damn good CM

Fabregas does more defensively and is less likely to struggle to adapt to the league. Kroos potentially could be a Veron, more so than Fabregas anyway.

I'd have Fab over Kroos right now.

Not on his wages he's not!

Arsenal (with a sentimental wage trim) or City in England but I think Bayern or PSG are be more likely.

Why do you reckon City and Bayern? They are both pretty stacked in midfield. United will be interested, imo, and they can match any wages. Only downside is no CL but that wasn't a problem when City were buying up the world. Bayern have too many midfielders if anything.

for those of you interested, here is the net spend over the past 3 years. when you look at these figures, it really is an eye opener for those who blame the glazers for our poor squad

    man united - 156million
    chelsea - 188 millon
    Liverpool - 97million
    Arsenal - 24million
    Man City - 152million

    source - transfer league website.

in this time, we have added 10 players with value over 5million.

City have added 13 players including Nasri, Aguero, Navas, Fernandiho, Clichy, Negredo.

i think its clear to see who got better business and deals.

Shocking alright, we have spent more then 66.7 million net spend in one year meaning the previous two before that had an average net spend of only 44.65 million each!

    Incredible stuff.

Adding 15 players in the three years, two of which cost 64.6m between them!

Meaning we picked up 13 players at a net outlay of 91.35million which gives us an average net spend on the other 13 of just 7.02 million!!

In that time we have added RVP, Kagawa, Mata, DDG, Jones and Paul Scholes (;))

I think its fair to say we have done some very good deals over that time.

Thats before you even get into the salary we picked up some of those guys for, unbelievable Jeff, unbelievable.

We do not have a poor squad, we have a good healthy squad with some glaring holes in the first eleven. The problem is, squad players are squad players for a reason, the likes of Cleverley, Fellaini, Young, Valencia etc should not be playing week in week out, they are grand to have as options but not to be the starters every week, thats the problem, not the squad. The midfield is a joke and you will find it very hard to have a car run well when its engine is knackered and being held together by bits of chewing gum, constantly having squad level players playing instead of a higher quality player.

    Ghana's kit is horrific.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Bayern makes no sense for him

Made no sense for Thiago either, or Rode even more so

If Pep tells Fab he will make him part of his plans and is shifting on the likes of Schweinsteiger that would make him interested Im sure....

I would like him but he would not solve all out problems, however a partnership of himself and Fellaini along with someone like Kagawa/Mata would be interesting to me, as long as Fellaini is given a specific job and understands it!
