Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Titan disagreeing with Aguerooo for saying that it was a bit of an exaggeration was being pedantic.

Then you claiming Titan was verifying Agueroo was pedantic. Then I was pedantic for bringing it this far. But I'm hungover and this proves a welcome distraction from the degrading porn I've been watching thus far today.

Any news on the transfer front?

I think you'll find that degrading porn more fulfilling than the answer to that question unfortunately.

They don't really need him providing Yaya is staying. They are well stocked in midfield

    You reckon?

I reckon if Utd want him he's theirs.

Can't see Arsenal spending huge money on a midfielder for the 2nd year in a row especially as hes late 20s.They'll go big on a striker I'd say.

By the looks of things if city dont want fabregas and some people are saying that arsenal arent interested then theres really only one option if hes coming to england and thats us. Woodward better act quick and pull of a decent transfer deal

Chelsea would be the other option?

EDIT, Chelsea are actually bookies favourites to land him but as there's no exchange laying him I'd not take too much notice of that

If it's true that City and Arsenal don't want him, I can't see him going to Chelsea so that would leave United and Liverpool in the league and PSG abroad, but it's said he wants to be back in the PL

I don't think it's true that Arsenal don't want him but are they going to spend 30 million on a midfielder when they will have to spend similar or more than that on a striker? I suppose it's possible if they offload a few midfielders they have

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,704 ✭✭✭Corvo

Can't see him at Chelsea myself although Hunter is confirming the rumours that they are in negotiations with Barcelona.

Fabregas however has went on record as not being the biggest fan of Mourinho, plus Mourinho may prefer a more hard working player, especially defensively.

United have a good chance here and usually I hate the attitude of some fans that say "just throw money at it" as it's far more complicated than that, but this is one player who would be worth making a top earner within the club and the fact that Barcelona want rid of him means the actual transfer fee should be much easier to settle upon.

Thing we have to remember is that LVG may just not want him.

    Expecting a 40mill+2 bid for suarez i see:pac:

I think hes arsenals if they want him and after that it could go anyway

Dave has a lot of work to do

If the reported €35m is the fee for Fab, United should just offer it straight to Barca and begin contract negotiations from there..

Fabregas would be brilliant for United's midfield, couple him with a dynamic, defensive minded midfielder, it would be two excellent additions.

Shaw & Hummels(Or other top CB) and we're laughing, I reckon we'd be talking circa £100-115m for the lot then.

Cue LvG turning down Fabregas and signing Clasie..

He's available for £30m and "only" earns £100k a week apparently so this should be a deal that we can do.

He would be a superb signing.

Yeah, his club have publicly stated they want to sell and many of the other major clubs have already said they don't want him, this is a perfect scenario to pick up a good player for a very reasonable fee. Hopefully Woodward is able to get a good deal done.

Assuming our new manager wants him that is.

Van Gaal may just not want him, but I don't know how we could get away with signing just Strootman who may not even be back for the start of the season

It's like the Mata signing really, too good to turn down but he actually plays in the position we need to strengthen hugely

Surely money bags Monaco and PSG will come in for him and as we well know money talks at the end of the day so forget all this rubbish about him saying he wants to return to the English League.

Our current options are Carrick, Cleverley and Felliani. If LVG doesn't want the likes of Fabregas then thats just as bad as Moyes not wanting Thiago or Strootman.

Its only as bad if LVG doesn't have other plans to bring in players. if he turns down Fab because he has others he wants, AND he brings them in, then I really don't mind...

Which is fair enough. But should we start next season without having made the necessary changes then he deserves just as much criticism as Moyes got.

Whats the story with Carvalho. In Feb and March, journos where saying our scouts have watched him like 20 times and highly rated him. And it looked like he was keen to move to us. Gone pretty quiet with him since moyes' departure. any updates

    Schmeichel is confident.
“I know it for a fact that we have a choice of all the players we want. So whomever Van Gaal wants, he can have them,” said Schmeichel, 50, who won five Premier League titles with United. “I spoke with (United executive vice-chairman) Ed Woodward and I know that whichever players Van Gaal wants, he is already in contact with them, and all of them want to come to Man United.”

The window hasn't even opened and we already have the most ridiculous rumour out of the way

That'll be hard to top really but there's still 3 months for the daily mail to string something together

  • Registered Users Posts: 792 ✭✭✭KombuchaMshroom

As hilarious as it would be to see that transfer happen because of the meltdown some people would have over it, even if there was tiny tiny possibility of it happening, which there isn't, I would hate to see that transfer go through.

It would be a joke to waste so much of the transfer budget on one of the only positions where we are actually covered, and regardless of how good he might be I could never ever bring myself to support a player like that.

Tbh, even just linking to articles with stories like that is a waste of time because all you are doing is helping increase traffic to that website which is all they are trying to achieve by writing nonsense like that.
