Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He's alright, He'd be a mid table journo. Kinda like Stoke.

Palmeri is a spoofer. He's putting 2 + 2 together and hoping to get 5.

Most of us know there's a great chance van Gaal will be announced tomorrow. He's just trying to boost his credibility, very cheap.

Didn't Henny Kormelink the author of van Gaal's book say that the deal was still way off over Giggs and transfer policy. It's thought that he was the source of all the leaks and the leak to Spurs initially.

i sat beside a former PL manager this morning on flight over and inevitably we got talking about Moyes.

his exact words when describing the relationship between Moyes and Fergie was "sure they were best mates" and "it was clear for two years that Moyes was getting the job as any time we went to manager dinners they were inseparable". when i told him i was shocked Moyes got the job he said everybody in the game behind the scenes knew it was happening.

it adds weight to the jobs for the boys discussion that was going around here a few weeks ago, but then perhaps dispells the notion that Jose was expecting it. also perhaps quashes the story that the players werent expecting it, as surely they knew what was coming.

i also asked him about Van Gaal and he said "it looks likely alright" but had nothing to say about transfers.

Looks like Kagawa in CM again.

Would prefer Mata in there, think he suits it better. That is when Shinji isn't on the wings though.

Be nice to finish up on a good win today. Tough fixture though. On a side note, I'm housebound for the next few hours. Giro d'Italia has all the roads closed around me  How sh*t is that?

Kagawa works harder defensively and can tackle a bit better, not much in it to be honest though.

I wouldn't be sure about that. Southampton have looked like they are on their holidays for quite a while now.

I'm surprised it's pretty much a full-strength team. Was expecting an unrecognizable XI today.

Hamilton wins again. City and Liverpool going for the title. And now I have to listen to Ray Houghton tell me how Manchester United should play football, or mute the game completely. This is the day that keeps on giving.

Muting this is probably the best option, because otherwise I'll end up posting my true thoughts about Ray Houghton and it'll result in a perma-ban from boards, and the internet in general.

When do you recall him playing that position? He wouldn't have played that role often at all.

I do remember him playing there against Norwich in the league cup, and he was excellent. Given that performance and considering he might have had maybe a handful more cameos there, it's a stretch to say he was terrible at #10.

I thought he was very decent away to Chelsea playing as a false 9 as well.

First half against Swansea main one that comes to mind. He played well in the second half when he went out to the wing and Kagawa went to 10.

My thoughts exactly when I switched it on, those three games on Sky are becoming more and more attractive by the minute.

How are we playing? Deservedly to be 1 down?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,690 ✭✭✭ElChe32

Haven't had much of a sniff in the game, Vidic took an elbow in the lead up to the goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,320 ✭✭✭v3ttel

"Van, Van Persie, a world player, I mean Van Persie"

Good ol' Ray Houghton. More coherent than usual today.

If it wasn't Vidic' last game, he should have been taken off ages ago imo. Bleeding and now on a yellow, well on track for a red...

Vidic is going to get sent off unless he calms down. Dodgy goal, should have been a free kick but deserve to be 1 down.

More magic from Houghton: "Oh, that was tight" as the replies show Van Persie is about 3 yards offside. Bloody hell.
