Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

One things for sure, the zombie like football has to end.The philosophy of playing a containment game that permeated Moyes thinking and gameplans should never darken OT again.
Since when did United worry about opposing teams and what they could do,it's meant to be the other way around.

LVG has the winning mindset and the footballing style we crave. The fear factor for visiting teams evaporated this season and that will have to come back, when you have teams who haven't got any kind of result at OT in decades getting an easy run & victories it really sticks in the craw.

Don't want to get into a Moyes debate, but the zombie passing has been there for a few years. I think it's probably natural though. Our wingers have been absolute muck. And the centre of midfield is woeful. Carrick and Cleverly slow down everything. There's been very little urgency and pace on the ball.
Van Gaal believes in attacking football, and hopefully he can get United playing it next season.

if we can sign Kroos, then alot of that Zombie football would come to an end. one thing i noticed today however, is just how much pace we lack...Kroos would not solve that.

we need a huge, Dynamic attacking outlet that will stretch defences. Adnan can be one outlet, but we need another...mata is very very poor in the pace department.

I should have made the first bit clearer, you are right the zombie football has blighted our game for nigh on 2 years now, makes us too easy to play against.

Here's a stat: United have named a unique starting XI in every one of their 55 games this season.

Reus would solve that problem. :)

Yep. Way too much rotation. And that's also been a feature for a couple of years now. Although injury prone players has contributed to this.
I've always believed that a consistent line-up breeds consistent results. It's become near impossible to predict a united starting eleven. It's nuts.

    this is pretty telling.

    ctPQVGe.png

Failed to score 6 times at home vs just the 1 last season. Not too much difference in the defensive stats between seasons.

This is great. Bids have started. Brilliant stuff.

I find this repetitive jibe amusing. You're talking to mainly Irish Man Utd fans. We have gone ten years without seeing our country in a major football tournament. You think we can't handle a season away from the Champions League? :pac:

Did you spontaneously forget Euro 2012, or did it require months of therapy?

    :pac:

    Scrap the cap!

I think next year will see United and Liverpool battling for 4th

If Arsenal and Chelsea both get strikers and the former don't have an injury crises again it's hard to see a top 3 without those two and City who won't even need to buy. Mourinho is normally best after his first season

Van Gaal is one of the best managers around but even he will need time to change the style and get the players to gel before we go for titles again. Liverpool having to deal with Europe, they need a rebuild in defence with two fullbacks, a centre back and a DM from what I've seen and better depth on the attacking front, Rodgers will have to tweak the tactics so they stop conceding so much and he will presumably have to deal with a lot of clubs taking the Chelsea approach to them next season seeing as it seems to work a treat and is better than getting battered 4-0.

Us not being in Europe will give us some advantage over them, it could be us in 4th and them 5th or the other way around.

It's a bit of an irrelevant stat though given our injuries. I'd say City would have a comparable record.

hopefully 2 big signings are done before the World Cup anyway.

  • No way Southampton are gonna turn that down. Delighted were starting bids this early.

Id have the Donegal man at a drop of a hat - great player and it would be great to see an Irishman take his place in OT once again.

Came off on 78 mins to a standing ovation,I suppose they had to give him the chance for a good send off from the fans.

    Sorry late reply.

They cut to Jim White on the phone who said an official bid has been made but Jim reckons it will be refused and Southampton will want over 30.

Kate Uptons bikini tops making a multi million pound transfer to the garbage bin.

£30m is the going rate for a potentially world class left-back who can own the position for 15 years. If we don't pay it, others will

    A proven centre half.
    2 Central midfielders.
    Maybe a pacey wide player.

Oh and also selling a few players and promoting some young players.

Doubt it would happen but Kroos and Vidal type players would be perfect.

Linked with both but doubt we get them. Something similar would help

I'd throw a combined £50m at Everton for Coleman and Barkley. Cider is a great invention. Jus' sayin' like.
