Yeap. thanked the fans, thanked Vidic and said we'd be back to winning ways soon.

Noticed this too, looked absolutely delighted tonight, almost as if a good friend of his was about to be announced as his new manager, wink wink nudge nudge

Was wondering if there would be any reference to Moyes - there wasn't.

Reckon Giggs will play on, that would have been a good opportunity to retire but maybe didn't want to take focus off the team.

Epic send off for Vidic there in front of the Stretford End. Well deserved too. What a player. Our best ever center half IMHO.

    Nemanja, whoaaaaa

I know I said Januzaj wasnt good enough to start regularly the other day but **** me, he was sensational tonight. More of that please!

That celebration against Sunderland around 2008 is personal favourite.

Good to see Giggs giving some young lads a run, always nice to see homegrown players get a run out. Pity the lad got taken of on his hattrick but Im sure hes happy enough with two

apparently Wilson has scored for the 18s, 19s, 21s and now the first team in the same season.

    sensational achievement if true.

Kagawa has pass and move perfected, it's a shame most of the team won't ever be on the same wavelength

If Van Gaal is our next manager he would really flourish in a passing system but with Mata already there it will be one or the other

I remember being at that game. It was Roy Keane left Sunderland a few days before that. The cars were frozen when we came out of Old Trafford, and it felt like it was about -10... Ronaldo limped off and spent the whole match pulling his sleeves over his hands.

    Great celebration by Vidic!

FS Felleni...like a big sack of spuds

Did any one hear anything about the fan who had to be stretchered out tonight? It looked very serious. I hope they're alright.

The match was patchy. Awful first half and marginally better second half.

I don't know if it was caught by the cameras but RvP did some keepy uppies with a teddy bear right at the end. That was the best football on display tonight.

if Fellaini doesnt improve, he will go down as the worse ever transfer in the history of the PL (he may already have this sown up). the entire deal and whats happened since he signed, has been embarrassing.

Have they said why Evra wasn't there? For the lap of honour or anything even? I am reading into that now!

    Worse then Torres to Chelsea?
    Worse then Carroll to Liverpool?

    I doubt it

For a completely pointless stamp, that will have not hurt Januzaj for longer than a few minutes, David Meyler will definitely get a ban which should see him miss the biggest game of his career. Well deserved.

Thought our general play looked disjointed, as it has all season, and even at times in the previous couple of seasons. We don't really look like a "team". More like the remnants of a team, with a few players thrown in that don't suit our system (if there is a system these days).
A few players did well in the match. Januzaj in particular, Smalling, Lawrence and Wilson. Van Persie looked good when he came on, as did Giggs. The rest were poor. Buttner is not good enough at this level. Valencia is too one-dimensional. Fellaini doesn't look a United player at all. Kagawa doesn't seem bothered most of the time. Carrick again was too slow and conservative with his passing. Jones is brainless at times and keeps getting himself injured by racing into no-win situations.

I'm still optimistic. A new manager, a handful of good signings, and continue to promote the promising youngsters and we'll be back on track.

    Errrmmmm

    Bebe
    Taibi
    Veron
    Jordi Cryuff

    etc etc

There are some serious roasters in our back catalogue of signings, Fell has a huge part to play in the rebuilding of the team I believe.

Those players were signed for peanuts bar Veron who was a WC player and still did a good job for us I believe so to even put him in with those lot is criminal

Fell hasn't got what it takes at the high level and doesnt have the football brain to take us to the next level. I couldnt see much of the match tonight but I did see in the 1st half where we put together some lovely passes and yet again Fell ****s it up. He isn't capable of one 2 touch football. He's a hacker or a lob ball specialist.

Apart from Veron, all those players cost small money. Bebe will recoup a chunk of his money I would guess given his form this season.

If Fellaini continues this dross then he will hold the title. Even Veron showed glimpses of brilliance.

Yup, Fellaini has been absolutely atrocious and I see no signs of it changing anytime soon. Too rash in a tackle, too awkward and slow on the ball and just generally not good enough at the very highest level.

Oh how things might have been different had we spent 30m on Ross Barkley last summer! :pac:

Great to see the youngsters flourish tonight. Januzaj looked brilliant when he was on the ball and another couple of seasons of beefing himself up should see him be able to withstand some of the shoves he was getting tonight.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

He looks like a man bereft of confidence, actually had a couple of decent moments in the game in fairness to him, could go either way I guess but I won't throw him to the wolves just yet
