Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I took most of the rumours from The Guardian. I think we can make up our own mad rumours without the need to quote The Sun or Daily Mail.

It was bound to surface again due to the LVG 'appointment. Won't be surprised if Robben and Strotman come up plenty as well. Buttner might get elevated to first choice LB though

The Guardian have plummeted this past two years. ..just as bad as others mentioned imo.

    BBC only real reliant one.

This early, they are all clutching at staws, but for the most part those mentioned all seem realistic.

Everton also rumoured to make a bid for Milner in the summer, but depending on the FFP ruling, both Richards and Milner might be forced to stay.

Regarding Liverpool, the only really concrete rumour if you can have a concrete rumour was Lallana to us.

Remen Tv had a lad on who is friends with Rickie Lambert who basically said its as good as done. Pinch of salt and all of that included.

    Arsenal one is missing
    Drmic- Nurnberg to Arsenal
    Griezmann- Sociedad to Arsenal
    Balotelli- Milan to Arsenal

All of which have been fairly prominent in recent months.

Bender to Arsenal from Leverkusen was touted as well, seems unlikely now though.

I heard Griezmann was being scouted by Liverpool as well, heard something about a £24m buy out clause or something?

I've heard the rumours about Mario a few times, but just can't see him leaving Milan. Will be very surprised if he does.

I think Yann M'Vila would be a great signing for Liverpool, wages however might prove a problem. Complete guesswork but I'd imagine he will be on an over inflated wage in Russia!

Griezmann, M'vila and Mo Sakho all share the same representation which might indicate something (or nothing!).

I'd say Konoplyanka, Lallana & Richards to Liverpool are the three likely deals there. They're the ones we're being heavily linked with. Whatever happens after that we'll have to wait and see. Griezmann is an interesting one though I'd be surprised if we went for both him and Konoplyanka. We'll be after full backs too i'd imagine, who they are and what price they'll cost though I dont know.

Apparently Spurs, Villa and multiple Bundesliga clubs are interested in Ferencvaros CB Muhammad Besic. A Hungarian guy I follow on twitter says they could get up to €9.5m for him.

He looked way out of his depth when he debuted in the BL for us 4 years ago, but he was only 18 then and thrown in at the deep end during an injury crisis. He must have developed well in Hungary.

Any CF a paper can think of to Chelsea.

    Mandzukic
    Costa
    Cavani
    Levazzi
    Falcao
    Benzema
    Higuain
    Rooney

The above being the main candidates for column inches.

    Leaving us :

    Cole
    Mikel
    Torres
    Ba
    Eto'o
    Lukaku
    Marin
    Moses
    Luiz

    Would be my main guess

Out - Martinez, Coleman, Barkley, Baines, Stones

    In - loan players

Lallana would be such a good signing for Liverpool. I've generally seen Coutinho to be the weak link for them this season and Lallana would improve that area immensely.

Even though you would use the term to describe transfer rumours in general, some of the above mentioned are such a pile of horse ****e.

So from todays stories Southampton to sell Lallana & Shaw to Liverpool & Man Utd for a combined 47million. Not saying either are bad players, both are very good infact, but with the right kind of re-investment They could be too great deals for Southampton.

Dejan Lovren supposidly cost them 8.5m last year, imagine another 5 like him. Easier said than done but thats how a club like that keeps progressing

Could be an incredible bit of business and as you said if it is invested wisely, Southampton could really push for a European spot next year. Pochettino has done a great job there since coming in, and has gone under the radar due to Rodger's performance with Liverpool this year, and the Poyet/Pulis escape as well.

I thought Southampton had some money concerns including needing 25M for their training ground?

Yep Southampton need to sell a couple of players to make up 25m they owe in transfer fees.
They will be picked apart, which is a shame. Spurs eyeing Pochettino too apparently.

Who from the relegated teams is worth looking at? Did Holtby join Fulham on loan? Someone like Olsson at Norwich would be a decent, cheap option for a lot of clubs.

I'd imagine the following would be linked to Premiership/Promoted sides:
    Norwich: Snodgrass, Bassong & Fer
    Fulham: Stockdale, Sidwell, Parker
    Cardiff: Marshall, Caulker & Jones

Fer tailed off pretty badly I thought the more the season went on. I forgot about Stekelenburg too, he'll surely have to go the way of Cesar and QPR and get loaned out at the very least.

Thought Ruddy was brilliant yesterday for Norwich (ruddy brilliant in fact) and I wouldn't mind him as back-up Szeczney at Arsenal with Fabianski leaving.

Wonder if Fabianski will stay in the Premier League ?

Wouldn't make sense to sell him, he's proven himself a useful getter of goals, and seems happy with his role...

All depends on the outcome of FFP. With Lescott gone, we need to sign a CB. Can't afford to let Micah or Milner go as we won't be able to replace them. Only player we could let go that would make money is Dzeko. Garcia could go too, but you'd never recoup his transfer fee.

Depends if it's reinvested well, Osvaldo and Wanyama weren't great signings at all. Their midfield improved when Wanyama got injured and Osvaldo was just a disaster. That was £30 million spent right there, all their best players were ones already there.

Southampton fan from there in my job saying the Shaw bid was rejected because he wants Chelsea and they are to meet the 30 mil they will let him go for. Said he got a text from someone usually up to speed on things Southampton. Supposedly location of Shaw's parents is a factor.

Didn't even know this guy was a soccer fan. So take it as a pure rumor. Just said i'd stick it up when i seen the thread.

Chelsea wont spend that for him. Not with Azplehsvdhdjdj(Dave) being unbelivable at LB for them this season, and not gonna swap him back to right and drop Ivanovic

Shaw and his family are Chelsea fans but id be surprised if we were in for hi
at that price. if we are, we'll be selling 4/5 players to balance the books.

Yeah Shaw is apparently a massive Chelsea fan. Wouldn't surprise me to see him end up there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,872 ✭✭✭Dickerty

So Lescott and Ferdinand are both leaving Manchester. There are two experienced defenders there, would be good buys for some mid-table teams.

As for Shaw, it's hard to say if he's worth £30M. To know you have a top class LB for the next dozen years or so (assuming he comes good), that's gotta be worth a lot. As a Pool fan, I'd pay a lot for that certainty in a difficult position to fill...
