Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have Villa allowed a fan (with no number) to play up front.

    Bowery

    He's awful :P

Even if Villa dont get the result tonight, this surely offers hope to Liverpool fans. Big Sam is a master of these tactics and if Aguero is out, who knows!

    Bakers obligatory head injury

    Villa got away with that
Still a good price a David Silva on insure-bet.. Said it earlier...

An insight into why City will absolutely, no doubt about it, win this game easily in the 2nd half there. 19-0.

I hate watching teams play like Villa tonight, I understand it but still I can't say I like it.

Nathan Baker with a head injury is a long standing Villa tradition

Weaker minds may currently be experiencing 'hope'. But the strong amongst us have accepted our fate. The universe has denied justice for this year. We'll try again next.

For the second half we could do with having a second man in the Villa box (Negredo/Jovetic), Javi hasn't had much to do.

At this stage I would take off two defenders and bring on Jovetic and Negredo to counter Aston Villas 9-0-1 formation.

    That's not fair it's totally an 8-2-0

If you think Weimann is playing midfield when hes been playing striker all year never mind where hes supposed to be lining up

Plenty of possession, but too pedestrian. Get Jovetic on for Jimbo.

1st half done and dusted, the bus is well and truly intact, this has a Villa win all over it tbh as City get more frustrated and leave themselves open at the back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,587 ✭✭✭✭Dont be at yourself

Villa doing their job well and though City are looking nervy, it's surely only a matter of time before they get their goal.

The longer Villa keep it at 0-0, the more anxious the stadium and City will get, and they could capitalise on that.

Villa looked tired by the end of the half there and City's bench is very strong. Prolonging the inevitable.

Tactical masterclass from Lambert so far.

This is like watching a Barcellona match. Hopefully the ball falls right for a city player eventually.

Still plenty of time for city to score 4!.

This will be dropped points for City tonight. They've no answer to the bus. Nerves will be cranked up.

This bus parking lark is dreadfully boring to watch.

Quick summary of the game so far please lads?

I believe when a British manager does it, it is called negative anti football parking the bus puke

When Jose does it then it called a tactical masterclass

Personally I'm not nervous, I have faith in the team that they'll stay calm and build up to the goal. Either eventually Dzeko or a sub will get the ball in the box, or Yaya or Silva will take their chance from outside. Can completely understand why other/most other City fans would be nervous though, this 5 man defence is a right PITA.

    This is cringey stuff lads

Hating every moment of this, the reason Dzeko scores so many away from home is he just doesn't work against blanket defense, not mobile enough and the ball doesn't stick. Aguero missed big time.

Need another striker on the pitch.

City just shy of throwing the kitchen sick at Villa, who've been suspiciously well organized at the back - which usually means someone's going to give away a penalty or misplace a backpass

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

I really wouldn't mind Yaya shooting in those situations, he's just THAT good at it.
