A friend of mine received an email purporting to be from eircom support informing him he had exceeded his 20GB allowance and that his account would be locked unless he confirmed his details etc. Typical phishing attack which he fell for. A friend of mine received an email purporting to be from eircom support informing him he had exceeded his 20GB allowance and that his account would be locked unless he confirmed his details etc. Typical phishing attack which he fell for. By the time the alarm bells rang in his head it was 30 mins later. He went straight in and reset his password. This was April 24th approx.

We've cleared out all the nasty stuff like bogus footers and reply to addresses etc and the account seems clean. Unfortunately he hasn't received any emails or been able to send emails since April 26th. Mails appear to send but never arrive at their destination. The clean up of the account was only performed today by the way.

It appears that his account is locked in some way though he hasn't been notified nor is there any indication of this being the case

Any assistance appreciated.
