The stock I saw in their Naas branch was really poor- they obviously hadn't sold that particular batch for a couple of years (I noticed because I was always on the lookout for greenhouses until I bought last year). The worn-looking packaging wasn't the problem, it was that the glass panes had been damaged from being carted around. My opinion was that they weren't much cheaper than specialist suppliers- but really check each part of the kit to make sure they are intact.

I'd recommend that if you can't afford a decent quality greenhouse at the moment, then do without and save until you can. It's a false economy over the lifetime of the greenhouse to go too cheap. The ones I saw in B & Q a few times didn't look good. Apart from cost there's heart ache involved in dealing with badly engineered products that take time to put together. At the end you'll wish you had spent a couple hundred extra.

I was just going to send you the link to that one :) It's the one I got.
I'm a little bit reluctant to recommend it wholeheartedly. Purely because it was a bitch to put the trim on the polycarbonate panels. Basically each panel gets a length of black plastic 'trim' down each side. This stiffens the panels. You need to slide the trim onto the panels. The fit is very tight and it was difficult to say the least. Some WD40 helped matters a great deal. Also, in the model I got there was no rubber door seal. I rang and complained and there was nothing they could do. It was just how it was with that model. The greenhouses are manufactured in China and Waltons get what they are given. It was an over-sight in the design. HE reassured me that I wasn't the only person to report it and that the next release would have the seal. That was f*ck all help to me. In the end I bodged up a better solution than rubber and used pipe insulation along the door lengths. It sounds naff but actually works brilliantly and is tighter than rubber seals.
Having said all that I've ended up with a great greenhouse for relatively little money and I'm very happy with it. It came through those storms earlier this year with flying colours.
If you go with polycarbonate, be aware that it will be very light, you could easily pick it up and walk around with it. So it needs to be anchored to the ground well. Glass houses almost anchor themselves due to the weight of the glass. I made an additional base out of sleepers, secured this to the ground by screwing it to treated stakes driven 2 foot into the ground. Then the metal greenhouse base was attached to this and finally the greenhouse itself was attached to that. Works well as the 2 bases give me about 14 inches extra height to the eaves.
It was money well spent getting the louvre vent too.

Or if you have the cash, take a look at polydome.ie, they have nice models up there but pricey.

btw - they are based in the UK. They have no physical presence in Ireland at all apart from the .ie website.
