Forget the SAS, Liverpool need the CDC (Carroll, Downing, Cole) to come to their rescue in this one

You can't read too much into the league cup games. The first leg consisted of a central defence of a full back and a league 1 centre half who had never played together before. The second leg was a dead rubber with players just coming back from injury.

If we can keep them scoreless for the first quarter we could settle into the game.

I've been offered a free new West Ham jersey from a Liverpool fan in work if they win the league.

Big Sam: "You know what's at stake here, lads. You know all eyes are on us today. You know the title will be decided by what you boys do here today. But it's not just about that, lads."

Big Sam slams down the Daily Mail tabloid which claims Allardyce is on the verge of being sacked by the club's owners.

"You're playing for me today and all, lads. You're playing for your boss. Now, I don't ask for much from you lot. You know that. But I'm asking for something today; for the the respect that you have for me, for everything I've done for you boys...you go out there and you win this fucking game, you hear me? You do it for me, lads. Make me fucking proud. Come on, boys!"

Big Sam to decide the title, he's been waiting for this moment his whole career and it will surely catapult him into front runner for the soon to be vacant Barcelona job.

I can see it now, 10 men behind the ball inviting City on and then BAM a Stewie D counter attack and a perfectly floated ball on to the head of Andrew Carroll to put the bubble blowers 1 up, 11 men behind the ball for the remainder of the game, Mourinho breaks down in tears at his own game upon hearing the news because his system will never be as good as Big Sam's and he beckons to Abromovic in the stand to buy Andy Carroll so his medieval football can once again rule the world.

    Winter is coming lads.

Win lose or draw, 2nd place if indeed Liverpool get that is an awesome achievement, 2nd place to the richest club in history is something else.

Don't know about D.G but I'll be excited when the commentator screams your username one last time this season.

So are Liverpool fans watching this game or the Newcastle game?

    City by 3.

    Nolan sent off early on.

City to have 80% possession to add to the carnival atmosphere.

West Ham doing well to get out of their own half.

Toure with a penalty and a screamer from outside the box. Dzeko with one late on.

City have the best squad in the League and probably deserve the League overall. Liverpool, who haven't add access to the resources of City, have done exceptionally well to compete.

Looking forward to next season already!

    Moral victories aren't real victories.

Just read that Glen Johnson cost more than the City backline:eek::eek:

No moral victories for me Ted.

but it is interesting that City have one of the highest wage bills in World sport, not just football, sport.

If Clichy played then ye it would be close but it Kolarov played they would cost more.

Zabaleta(£6.45m) and Kompany (£6m) were absolute bargains, thank you Mark Hughes!

There is a kind of dangerous scoreline vibe to the match today. Like being 1 goal ahead late on in a match, or if Liverpool 3 goals!
The longer the game goes without City scoring they'll start playing for the draw. Pellegrini won't want them sitting back but it will be human nature. All it takes then is a set piece Carrol nods to Nolan and 0-1 it finishes.
I'll have some money on Liverpool to soften the blow if that happens.

Big Sam won't park the bus the same he did against Chelsea. West Ham were desperate for a few points right now they have nothing to play for

Manchester City won the title only two years ago! I'd say they don't want to win it this year! That's being a little too greedy! Let West Ham and Liverpool win today boys! Sure it was way back in 1990 the last time Liverpool won the league! Mobile phones weren't even around then and people used to listen to music on tapes on a thing called a Walkman!

Good, no surprises on our side. I think the nerves might kick in when the game starts, but right now I'm feeling swell :)

We are wearing our 3rd shirt today for the very first time its black. Apparently wearing the black shirt in respect to Liverpool losing the title. COYI

    What's up with Fernandinho?

Javi's edged ahead of Fernandinho in Pellegrini's reckoning since he's been struggling back with a leg injury. Easier to keep Javi in the team for the last 2/3 games, and he's been in fine form.

    What's up with Fernandinho?
Carrying an injury. Actually, Garcia isn't a bad shout as a replacement. He's pretty strong in the air; maybe double team on Carroll.

If City are to win this (and they almost certainly are), then fair play, the league table doesn't lie. I like Pellegrini anyhow, he has shown a lot of class this season, more than can be said for some others though.
