Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Toyota had one or two special editions corollas that were different body shapes. Can't remember the name, but I thought they looked better than the standard car.

Oh yes - I forgot Renault also did a Louisanne (may have the spelling wrong) version of the Renault 9 and 11

You got tinted glass, remote central locking (I think), front fog lights and colour keyed bumpers.

When I was at school one of my teachers had a Renault 9 Louisanne - and the unusual thing about it is that hers was a 1989 registered model - the R19 came in March 89 - and there was VERY few 89 reg R9s and 11s - I can only remember seeing 3 - hers, an 11 diesel hatch and a diesel van at the local mart.

I know that lancia in the op, lovely little car shame about the special edition part. Most special editions I can't stand but some were cool like the jps Capri or this fulvia safari.

Probably not an appropriate thread but I've spent half the day longing for a BMW Z3M-Coupe. Rare enough edition of the Z3

Not a special edition as such but still pretty special.

WV did a 'Jeans' special of the original Beetle, complete with denim seats and interior:

    jeans_beetle.jpg

Back in 1984 Renault produced 'Centenary' editions of the R9 to celebrate 100 years of the GAA. Have a pic someplace but can't find it yet, I do recall they had white wall tyres though!

There was also an R21 Mirage - but I think (the R21) was a part of the normal irish line up - I think it might have been a specific Irish spec model.

Apologies for been such a nerd/geeky

Yeah a terrible terrible effort, the sterio door was the same as the standard cars with a ill fitting fake wood plaque stuck on it.

What about special editions that didn't seem to give you anything over the standard model - and were just a name stuck on.

Here in Ireland - for the last 7 or 8 months of Bluebirds been on sale here (prior to the Primeras arrival) - Nissan were offering them as a Bluebird Classic.

don't recall them having any additional extras over a normal Bluebird - apart from colour keyed bumpers on the base model LX

A Dublin toyota dealer sold Toyota Avensis "Aura Plus" models (complete with vinyl name badge on the boot) when Strata models were as rare as hens teeth (2003)
They were base Aura models with accessory alloys and fogs added, and were more expensive than better equipped Strata models.
That's how popular they were when they came out,

C4 by Loeb, people thought they'd get a snarling beast to rival the Makinen Evo or McRae Impreza, instead got the standard C4 (the most powerful 2.0 16v in the 'by Loeb' was available in standard versions also), with some stickers.

Yes... I remember that one as well.

I think the flyer had a black rubber boot spoiler, and sunroof fitted locally as well as the trendy stripes with the name flyer !

The mirage in laguna I form was a run out model. Same spec as the RXE ( think that was top spec before it) but with a fancy name to shift them.

In fairness it is a bit different. On the 60th one they fitted the bull bar about 4 feet too far back :-)

A defender in gun metal, with side steps, a nice chrome grille and light grilles is what I want, before they go and destroy it. This year is it that it goes all soft?

My cousin is going to be selling his 110 in the summer. Just wish I could afford it :(
