Why oh why is there a 7 working day waiting time to get an unlock code for a phone.

I contacted eMobile last week, was given an Unlock code, and then referred to a 3rd party website.

This unlock code didnt work, but as it was the weekend i had to wait until monday to make contact again.

And once again, same advice given, and an unlock code that doesnt work.
Then told to wait 7 working days  for another unlock code.

Really.. 2 weeks to get a phone unlocked.
and why are agents so lazy, that they refer you to a 3rd party website for instructions.

    Hi pa990,

There is only one unlocking code available for an individual phone. If the unlocking code you were given does not work you will have to get your phone sent to our repair company.

If you go into an eMobile store the agent will send the phone for you.

    Send the phone away ?

That's a tad inconvenient. I'm still using it and don't fancy having to wipe the phone, or having it wiped for me.

Never had this problem with other operators.

    Hi pa990,

Unfortunately that is the only option available to us. Would you be able back up everything on your phone first? That way you won't lose anything.

Thats a pain in the ass to back stuff up.
i dont keep anything vitally important on my phone.
I just dont want the hassle of having to redownload my apps, and re-customise it again.

    thanks anyway

    Hi
i received an email this morning from eMobile giving me the unlock code.

its the same code without the first zero
    9317352

    previously i was given 09317352
    none of these work

Once again i contacted customer services who told me to input 09317352
then i was told to use
    #0111*09317352#

none of these work, only to be told that i may brick the phone if i try it any more.

    suggestions ?

or do i have to have the phone sent away for what will possibly be 2 weeks.

    Hi pa990,

Please do not attempt to enter the unlocking code as this will then permanently lock the phone to our network. You will have to do what I advised you previously.

Make sure the store advise you wish to unlock the phone when sending it to our repair company.
