Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Quick question. Looking at buying 2nd hand. Current owner has log book but it's still in previous owners name, I presume he didn't want to tax it or whatever. Is this sketchy or is it OK as long as bike matches log book. Also if bike was un-taxed for the last year am I liable for back tax ?

    TIA.

technically its not his to sell :p might be worthwhile trying to track down the previous owner, and confirm its not stolen..

only liable for tax from the date you purchase it

How long has the seller had the bike? The fact that they are selling a bike that they don't own is a problem. You need to do a comprehensive history check and make sure that they have a valid reason selling a bike that isn't registered to them.

Make sure that all the numbers match and don't look like they've been tampered with. And then do the normal checks for buying 2nd hand.

You only pay the tax for the time you own it.
