Wow great ride by Matthews, didn't think he'd be able to stick with Cadel so well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,618 ✭✭✭happytramp

    No Roche?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Majka was the first Saxo rider across the line I think, not sure who that second one was by himself.

Pretty sure that was Roche by himself

Thought Roche was in the main group with a Rain jacket on.

There was also a Saxo rider in a rain cape in the first chasing group I think??

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,764 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

Well we will find out when we see the gc classification

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,280 ✭✭✭Bukman13

Majka was in the white jersey, there was another Saxo in the group but it didn't look like roche.

The lone saxo rider could have been him.

Looked like Roche coming in there 4-5mins down.

    From saxo tweet
#Tinkoff_Saxo's Majka and Roche presumably finished 49 seconds behind the front quartet. Confirmation to come. #Giro

Official Saxo-tinkoff Twitter account say that Roche + Maikja finished 49s behind main group, no confirmation though.

Majka and Roche not on the results. Both must have needed a bike change. Looks like Roche lost a minutes as the other Saxo riders are all on the results page.

Edit: Rogers in the front group

And Petrov was the rider who came in alone.

Giro hopes over for a lot of guys today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,280 ✭✭✭Bukman13

It says Jay Mccarthy was in the front group, so Majka must have took his bike, Lets hope Roche had Petrov's bike.

No Roche or Meijka here, but I was sure I saw Meijka.

They had to have swapped bikes because Majka and Nico are still not on the results list yet. Otherwise they are in a ditch somewhere.

Commentators making it sound like it's a shoe in for Evans now. Matthews is really impressing me though sticking with the front groups on the climbs and even being able to do a bit of work - bridging the gap yesterday, sprinting today for the win. Is he an outside bet for the GC?

My 2c - I thought they were right to carry on pressing after the crash. They've no idea who's involved or the extent of the injuries - race radio would only tell the race directors so much to pass on. A puncture - a rider puts his hand up to pull in the group knows what is happening. A crash? If it's behind take advantage.
