Best Receiver / Amp to run Teufel T500 Mk2 5.1 speakers

Hi Guys,

I recently got a set of Teufel T500 Mk2 5.1 speakers and was looking for advice on the best amp to drive them.
I have a HDTV and also a HD Projector in my set up, mostly will be for movies but some music also.
I want to get the most out of the speakers without going overboard on an amp

are you looking for a Home cinema receiver ( I know you have mentioned TV) or a Stereo amp for music - those Teufel are a mighty speaker and will need a matched amplifier..

are you looking for a Home cinema receiver ( I know you have mentioned TV) or a Stereo amp for music - those Teufel are a mighty speaker and will need a matched amplifier..

Im looking for a decent home cinema receiver, music will be secondary.
Yes the Teufel seem fantastic on first look - build quality is superb - Have you had any opinions on the sound quality? or experience listening to them?

I have been looking at the Onkyo Tx NR 709 or something similar, would like to have 2 HDMI outputs but its not a dealbreaker

The 709 is a few years old a this point and even the 727 has also now finished.

We do have one of the Onkyo 828 left in stock which is our display unit but is in very good condition. We could clear this at £599.95. This was orginally a £1000 amp.

We also have the Pioneer SCLX57 priced at £799.00 (Cracking amplifier)

What sort of budget are you thinking along?

The Sony is a cracking bit of kit and was 5 star reviewed in what HiFi at £499.95 originally.
