Anyone know anywhere that sells the AeroPress around the city. I can get it online but would prefer to buy it in store if possible. Argos has it listed as available to order but at €44 when everywhere in Dublin and online seems to sell it for €30-35

GalMac may be able to help you there, not sure if they provide this kind of service but they would be the Mac specialists in Galway so may be able to point you in the right direction.

It also may be worth checking out the Mac forum on here for some of the simple setup issues you have

Thanks for that. Galmac fees to call out are €110 per hour. I was hoping to get someone at a more reasonable rate.

    Hi,

I have thought English abroad for three years and would be willing to give grinds. What country is the au pair from and how basic is her English?

Picked it up this morning before I saw this message. I had a few beers last night so my brain wasn't in the right place for haggling :)

I must say they seem really nice in there, the guy said if I wanted to come back in the afternoon he'd show me how to use the Aeropress, also one of the nicest coffees I've got in the city so I def recommend everyone to check it out if you're near by

As far as I know she has not made a personal appearance in Galway. Maybe try Knock, or Fatima, or Lourdes if you want somewhere more exotic.

Most of the (Catholic) churches in the city will have statues, if that would do?

    Glad to help.

Horseshoe game set. Where might I be able to purchase one?

Try about the third stall up on the left in the Saturday market as you're coming from Shop St. He does all metal type stuff. He should be able to point you in the right direction.

That's assuming that 'horseshoe game set' isn't some new Lego/Transformer/Wii/Barbie/Whatever the current trend is accessory.

I should have been more specific. Horseshoes for lawn. Thanks for the tip.

Hi, I'm looking for tinned pumpkin puree and also pretzel rods/sticks - can't see either on Tesco's website. Can go to aldi/lidl/dunnes/supervalu, but before I go off on a wild goose chase, anyone seen these items anywhere in Galway city please? Thanks!

  • Registered Users Posts: 353 ✭✭nicki11

Candyland does pumpkin for pies (might be similar), tesco does small pretzel sticks (like out of bombay mix) you may need to go elsewhere for larger ones though

Same, can't seem to find it on the webpage. I went to Tesco and they were tiny!

Anywhere offering weekend work at the moment? desperate!

Also I would love to help out with homework clubs for languages but don't know which schools are offering.

  • Registered Users Posts: 81,220 ✭✭✭✭biko

There is a dedicated work thread, please use it.

I know some of the direct provision hostels have homework clubs, but they can't pay anything.

    Hi guys,
Anybody know of a place / person in or near town that does HiFi repairs? Have a record player with a bogey selection button so it's an electronics issue that'd probably be simple for anyone who knows about electronics to fix!

    Any suggestions?

    Hi all,

looking for recommendations for a software developer / development team to update and complete a commercial software project that has sat on the backburner for a few years.

Thanks in advance for your advice...

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message, however a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Pork Scratchings? Pure dirt, but I must have them... :pac:

They're mainly an English thing, so not a lot of places around the city have even heard of them, let alone know whether they've ever stocked them.
