So a dude cheated in his exam today.

He wore a pair of high tops, hid his phone in his left shoe/high top....stick up...part...thing? and Hid a wireless 3G mobile wifi router in his other one, went to the bathroom and bobs your uncle, he got a bunch of irish translated

Google translate wont gove a correct translation

There were a few essays where I used it for translation

    The paper came back red.

I am so thankful I got a room to myself!

    I wish I had one :(

30 minutes into the exam, the toilet brigade starts. Then some eejit knocks over his maths set, more people go to cheat the toilet, then the "**** this ****, I quit life" people start leaving, hilarious people start asking for graph paper during English, then more people go to the toilet, the OL starts leaving, then most of the HL leave and finally me and a like 2 others end up getting more done in the last 10 mins than the whole half hour before

    I hate people

Do you know who else had a room to themselves Kayleigh?

    Hitler.

(I'm secretly Hitler. I shaved off my moustache and now no one recognises me! Don't let them know my secret :( )

Hahaha, I just had to get my school to apply for a room, doctor wrote a letter about exam related anxiety and boom, my own room. :pac:

I dont understand why people cheat in the Leaving Cert, the amount of time you spend actually trying to hide cheats or the little bit of info you get going to the toilet to cheat combined with the stress of it all would probably mean youd do better if you didnt even try to cheat

Cheating would be most effective in a subject like physics, where the answer is usually really short and the same thing is (almost) guaranteed to be on a previous marking scheme.

Not advising anybody try tho, just saying Irish is a pointless one.

Only one person in my exam centre went to the bathroom so far :pac: I suppose because most people are doing HL everything. There is one waster who is late everyday and another one who leaves like an hour into the exam, but other than that I'm blessed :p

Ah no it's not that bad :) it was worse in the mocks, I did the first two in the hall with everyone and panicked, but did the remainder alone. :pac:

I don't get how people even have the balls to cheat, whenever I attempted cheating in say a class test I would be so paranoid I could hardly read the questions on the page in front of me :pac: If I did in the LC I would probably be shaking for the 3 hours

I'm 99.5% sure exam anxiety doesn't count for DARE.

There's people in my year applying for it with social anxiety and stuff.

Tbh I think some of them just got themselves diagnosed in hope they'd get DARE.

I could probably have applied for it, had I looked into it before the closing days. :pac:

haha yeah, I would imagine worst case scenarios, like the notes falling out or something :pac: I would spend more time planning the trip to the bathroom than writing, and the one time I actually did go and check, I forgot the answer by the time I came back because I was so scared :pac:

It can affect what you can get into though.

If you apply for DARE and have some health issue like, I dunno, cystic fibrosis, you can't do medicine etc. So I'd imagine if you've some mental issue it might stop you from getting psychiatry, nursing or other stuff like this. That's what my guidance counsellor said anyway.

(Genuine) social anxiety is for many people a significant and long-standing problem, and impacts on **daily** function.

Exam anxiety, while I know it can be a very real and serious issue for many people, and obviously if you're applying to college it's a particularly serious one, isn't really a condition which impacts on daily function outside of the brief period of exams (unless it's just a symptom of a broader underlying condition).

That said, I'm not an expert on either mental health issues or DARE, so don't take my word for it ...
