Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all

I'm getting a new LG smart tv in the next couple of days and was looking to pick up a soundbar like the following
    http://www.currys.ie/Product/lg-nb3530a-wireless-soundbar/318340/145.2
This gets decent reviews and matches the TV make which gives some advantages I suppose

I've just noticed the following which seems like a decent bargain for a home cinema set up. I dont really watch DVDs but I guess it would be handy for once in the blue moon
    http://www.ibood.com/ie/en/ Pioneer BCS-HF818 Blu-ray 2.1 Home Cinema System

Which do you think is the better option given they cost roughly the same

(note - ignore the fact that the Pioneer system is on IBOOD - I have bought from them before with no problems)

    Cheers

IMO 5.x ; 7.x or 11.x is a far better medium acoustically than a virtually imposed sound bar.
On the sound bar side it's neat it's virtually invisible and has the option of 5.1 wireless ( mostly Sonos)
The limitations are obvious in so far it's a multiplexed stereo with a wider mix making it seem like surround sound without the back speakers.
An av amp with 5.1will always give you better definition and separation but they are big and have lots of wires
