Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Won it how they've played all season.

    By having gigantic balls.

Fair play to the Barca fans. All those players deserve it.

Fantastic! What an achievement by Simeone and Atletico. Even today when they were dealt blow after blow in the first half, they dug deep and grinded out the necessary result. Congrats to all involved.

Sooo happy. During the days of Quique Sanchez Flores nobody would have ever thought this was possible.

    Diego Simeone take a bow.

Delighted for Atletico, great performances all season long and come back and draw that game without your best two attackers is just more sensational team work. Simeone is a great coach.

Halfway through what only kids would dare dream, a final day winning La Liga against Barca and now a final day against Real Madrid for the Champion's league.

Sprinklers too come on if Atleti get something out of the game? :pac:

    Im delighted for Atletico Madrid.

Barca fans have applauded them because Atleti deserved the title. There will be no sprinklers. They will lift the trophy soon enough.

We all know why the sprinklers were on that day when Jose was acting the mick. There would have been something like a riot if Jose was allowed to continue.

Costa and Turan will be over to Sean Boylan for some herbal weeds to be fit for the Champ League final!!!;)

    Ironically???
Woud you stop. Im sure alot of them are pissed off, but doubt many would begrudge Atleti.
Im sure many fans would like to vent anger at the manager though.

Atletico Madrid are the worst club to hold up as a shining light against money corrupting soccer or sport in general.

I'm delighted their team won but not under any illusions how twisted some of their finances have been over the past decade.

    Racist abuse.

Yeah because all of the 50,000+ fans in the Vicente Calderon are racists.

    Jesus Christ.

    Racist abuse.

A tiny minority of scumbags don't represent an entire fanbase.

    Racist abuse.

Be difficult to find a set of fans in Spain that haven't racially abused an opposing player, and again, it's not like it's the whole stadium. There just always seems to be a section of idiots in any stadium

    That's all they got allocated

    Racist abuse.

You'll find it hard to find a club to follow if minorities speak for the majority

In purely football terms it was an immense effort from Atletico, that was about a nervous last 20 min as ive ever watched, and I dont support either team.

The pure work and closing down was a joy to watch really. Theres been so much of what way you should play with the ball but without it can be just as important too. Atletico were probably the best team in Europe for doing that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

Looking at that Atleti goal again. Valdes would probably have saved it. Awful defending. Great header though.

    Delighted it went in.

Looking at Miranda and Luis makes be baffled. How did they not make the Brazil squad?

Baffling isn't it. And it could come back to haunt them. Marcelo, Alex, Thiago Silva, Dante and David Luiz are decent options but Miranda has been one of the best centre halves in Europe this year. His form warranted inclusion for sure.

A tiny minority of scumbags don't represent an entire fanbase.

I'm well aware that in a large fanbase the majority don't care about politics but I'd still class it as a large minority myself, over 500 abused Marcelo and his son. It was a large section that abused Papa Diop. The fans of their underage teams were done by Uefa too. The clubs fan base has a long history of having fascist and racist elements and nothing has been done to eradicate it. Either by the club or the majority of fans.

At least Villareal dealt with the banana thrower.
