Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think it seems a bit weird how insurance companies will not quote me online for the zxr 250 when i'm 24 starting off on a learner unrestricted licence.

Am i missing something that the 250 is a monster of a bike for a beginner etc ha

It's a sports bike and Irish insurance companies don't like anything sporty, or that they think is, for new policies. Same problem with 4 wheels.

Just got quoted €810 by liberty insurance which is a lot :-(

My mistake to buy a sports bike to start off with i suppose

Do liberty still recognise the insurance assessments, if you do one it might reduce your policy further.

    Agreed I paid €2200 on a transalp 400 when I was 24.TThat was 10 years ago.
Passed me test and renewed when I was 25, renewal quote was less than 600.

Paid about 1300 for my first insurance on a cbr 125 at age 26 when started,

4 years on I'm less than €400 on a Honda blackbird and cbr 600 with pillion fully comp.

Yours will go down quick enough, get insurance assessments and pass your test ASAP and you'll see a big difference.

Your quote is roughly the same as the OP before NCD.

I payed 1100 on for a honda cmx 250, I would be happy with that quote.

I paid 972 with liberty when I started on a cbr125r because it's a sport bike (?!). Its as sporty as a carbon fibre zimmer frame. I was 27 then. Id be happy with that qoute.

You will prolly pay less on a CB400 then that 250.
