Was on the J1 in Boston in 2010. Went to Hyannis for a weekend as we had friends there. Each to their own but it's fairly small, a couple of night clubs and all the Irish would know each other fairly quick. Like an extension of college really just with no study and serious drinking. No-clue on the current situation with jobs in the area, should be seasonal work as the Cape is always busy during the summer months. I'd recommend going to a larger city such as Boston to see an American city at play rather than a town where all your new friends will probably be Irish and you could soon get bored of those 2 or 3 nightclubs. More work options too.
