Interesting to see the opinions on beards in here. i have a pretty big beard myself and I've never had any bad comments about it from anyone. Its crazy how many girls at my age (25) actually love a beard. I don't want to post a picture of myself but my beard is of a similar size and style as the picture

beards are lush, the bigger and bushier the better! it should be against the law for men to shave their beautiful beards. (well, unless their beard is sparse and whispy) maybe i'll go in as an independent pogonophile for the european elections and change the country for the better.

    You have my vote!

I can't grow a beard. Well I could attempt to but it's an awful looking pubic hair looking mess, honestly..rotten.

Lads who can grow proper beards-brilliant. I've complimented them on it..

Lads who can only grow what I can or the 'neck beard' stop. Stop what you're doing right now and shave.
Settle for stubble. It's best for everyone.

Many people with full beards now will probably cringe in 10-15 years when looking back at photos...like men who sported "goatees" in the 90s/00s now looking back at photos of themselves...

Some look good and it suits them, but many blokes look like they are trying too hard.

    BEARDS ROCK.

    Carry on growing them, menfolk.

Just...don't get too much food in them. Hygiene, like. I once dated a guy with an AMAZING beard, but he loved pizza and I could still smell/taste the toppings for hours afterwards :(

I hate beards. Just a note to young lads with atrocious big beards, you look ridiculous and it ages you really badly. Just saying.

Nah. The Gordon D'Arcy look is hot as fúck

Husbands not allowed a moustache/beard. No man should have more hair on his chin than his head.

A bald head and a big beard looks great. What nonsense.

Thanks for the new word, but i just tried it out on Mrs Satriale and she hit me. Fortunately the beard completely camouflaged my chin and she only punched air/hair.

I'm pretty damn proud of my goatee. No regrets.

I find that the scruffy goatees with more chin hair than tache (i.e. not perfectly the same length) together with stubble/general messy look, is better than the 'perfectly' maintained one that was the norm back in 90s/00s.

This is as bad as it gets...

Christian Bale is okay, it actually suits him.

Of all the times I've had copious amounts of facial hair, my only regrets are the times I look at photos and didn't.

Quite why people get so worked up on the appearance of others is something I'll never fathom. If you want to grow a beard then grow one, if you don't there are plenty of products that will cater for you. Who gives a flying continental shite about what some random person thinks of how you look?

As I have mentioned before when this topic comes up, I grow a beard for 3 reasons.

    1) I think I have a strange looking jaw. A beard masks that.

    2) I'm, also unable to grow hair from my earlobes up but my facial hair grows with reckless abandon. I grow my beard as compensation for the loss of hair on the top of my head.

    3) Recently moved to Iceland where everyone looks very Viking like, with long beards and I would like to fit in.

Why would you begrudge me that OP?

I shaved my beard and cut my mop there last week as I had a couple of job interviews coming up..

Now i feel like a beardless corporate sell out..

And my face is lonely! ;)

We may, as a society however, have reached 'peak beard'

Remember about 2-3 years ago all the young wans were wearing those awful quilted coats with "I ♥ PB" on them? All you beardies are just the male 20-30 something version of those. Isn't just a bit of a coincidence that you all realised you wanted to grow beards at the same time?

I refuse to grow a bread because it's far too much effort and too uncomfortable. I don't shave clean for the same reason. I bought a €15 beard trimmer about 3 years ago and use that once every week to keep my facial hair at a length that stops it being uncomfortable.

Nope, I couldn't afford razor blades..

It's gotten to a stage where a clean shaven man is manlier than a bearded man.

Unfortunately. Luckily, there is an Aussie band coming to Dublin in October or November called The Beards who only sing songs about beards!

Definitely getting a ticket for that!

Surely fellows with beards have a disgust at their clean-shaven faces and don't want to appear too barefaced!
    Hence the camouflage.

It's a combination of laziness, frustration, and amazingly fast hair growth. I've had a beard for around 7 years. Nothing to do with hipsters, just like having a beard.

If you really believe that some relatively new band with crap music are responsible for the introduction of big bushy beards into the world, then I would seriously suggest you taking a course or two in Art History, and no, I am not been sarcastic, please do so.

I once knew a bearded atheist but he wasn't a vegan.
