    That part of the element maybe blown or the switch maybe faulty hard to know with out testing it...

    yes neutral is wired to stat

    is that an old heater? I think some may
    have had brown neutral on the flex

    is there an rcd on the circuit? you might need to get the immersion tested

    yes I think I remember the brown neutral
    that may be an old one
    maybe no rcd ,and heater gone

    the brown and black vary too on different models
    I just go by the multimeter

    Mine is 1989 vintage and still working, neutral is brown, sink (live) is blue and bath (live) is black.
