Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can anybody explain to me why there was a 4 / 10 split in the groups of candidates? Why was it not split in to two groups of ... *carry the one*.... 7 candidates?

Miriam wouldn't be fit for seven.

These debates are a good thing, keeps the guests off the streets canvassing for the nights they are on RTÉ and TV3.

I do actually like Simon Harris, I think he's a decent guy. But I think it's a sad reflection of the way that the media covers politics that the first time I ever heard his name was when he used the word "chillax" at the public accounts committee.

When he first entered local politics here in Wicklow, I thought he was the political equivalent of a 'Full Kit Wanker', but his performances on the PAC have been pretty impressive (from what I've seen on Oireachtas Report anyway).

Oh shut up FF wanker, you caused all this hardship in the first place my blood boils listening to FF people talk about a need for change

Jan should mosey back to Jerry Browne in California and use his expertise there !

If he had an Irish accent, would you still suggest he leave the country?

I don't necessarily agree with Jan Van De Ven's policies, but your comment smacks of xenophobia.

Feck off Deirdre. You're sending me to sleep.

Deirdre Clune and Simon Harris seem to have been given more time than the other candidates.

Glad I'm not being asked to vote for any of that lot.

We'll be back with the candidates from the Dublin constituency tomorrow night... They will be split in to groups of 2 and 25 so that they all get a fair hearing..

Dont bother with the dublin lot they were on vincent waste of space

The Catholic nutter is off to say a prayer.

RTE didn't take on board last night's criticism.

To be honest, I think Ben Gilroy should leave the country too. I don't mind where, as long as it's not Brussels. And he can take the 'Constant Markievicz' fella with him.

well that was depressing. At least I know now who not to give a vote to. Impressed by Simon Harris. Have to go and do a bit of research now and see what groups they would align themselves with in Europe and what policies they hold.

If you mean fear of foreigners as xenophobia suggests , no I'm not xenophobic, just that I don't take with yanks telling us what we should be doing as if they would be paragons of fiscal or social rectitude ! If he is such a fan of Jerry Brown, maybe his talents are better put to use there !

Ben Gilroy standing behind him, nodding in agreement.
They probably think Kitty O'Shea gave his life too to get away from that Charlie Parnell woman

It's a pity Brian Crowley was prevented from going for the Presidency. He'd make a better President than Michael Twee.

Totally disagree!! Michael D. is a wonderful president!!! :)

Claire is gorgeous, but she's not as sharp as Miriam or Keelin Shanley..

Claire is way ahead of both of those! Keelin sometimes does not seem to noitice
when her questions are not being answered, as per her interview with Vivienne Dempsey from Revenue, on Morning Edition, a few months ago. :(
