Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

VHS Playback not working

I want to finally copy all of my old home videos on VHS to save them on my PC. Haven't used a VHS player in a while so I dug the old Panasonic one out of the attic. The problem is that I can't seem to get any playback on sound or picture. I've tried a few different tapes and used a cleaning tape but still nothing. Originally, this used a 20 pin SCART cable to connect to the TV but the problem is that these days, we don't have a TV with a SCART input in the house. Instead I tried using a SCART-to-composite adapter that came with my Wii. The thing is that this adaptor only has 8 pins and I'm wondering if this is the reason for no video?

I thought the 8 pins was just a lower-quality connection, but is it a case that the game consoles are able for 8 pins while the VHS/DVD need 20? And if so, would buying a SCART-to-component cable like this sort it out?
