He has also had it serviced but with no resolution. The salesman told me that it is most likely to do with the spark plug but…

it dosent say what engine it is ..... can you find out what engine it is and ill give you some more info

It is a briggs & stratton but not to worry - got a different one in the sale in Homebase last weekend.
