She sounds like his Mother when she calls him Christopher.

"Hi, Mrs Dignam, Is Christy there?"

"I'll get him- Christopher, you're wanted on the phone"

Catherine had a lot on her plate in her lifetime...

Christy seems cool and has had a major struggle.. but he has not once mentioned his wifes battle or how he assisted her

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,881 ✭✭✭terrydel

Christy is a good interview imo. Eloquent, no ego.

Edge using a bit of delay on the guitar for a change..

If he played Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, he'd still have a 300ms delay on the guitar..

    FO Bono

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,591 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

I agree with him on that point. Never understood the overtly negative press for Bono.

He did put himself through quite a lot of it himself though, he chose to take heroin cos he thought it'd have less consequences than booze, and cos he looked up to Keith Richards, sorry, but it's a bit woolly minded really……he did have kids and his wife had cancer, I think he's responsible for his choices, he was after all, no kid when he started using heroin

He had his demons, and yes he is responsible for his actions, but others have to be responsible for their actions too. There was so many demons before he met Catherine. Catherine has been through so much, I can't imagine how terrifying it must have been to hear that she had cervical cancer, with such a young child and Christy in the depts of addiction. No doubt Christy is so very lucky to have a lady like Catherine.

As I always say about Tubridy he doesn't listen to the answers he just goes by the questions that he has ready and spends his time remembering them. No flow to the interviews at all.

He lets the wrong guests drone on forever. Like that angel woman and Lisa Fitzpatrick last week.

Ya they are, very genuine. That vacant look on Christy would be familiar to anyone who's had a relative going through cancer treatment and it's not easy.

She has clearly been a great support for him.

It's like an interview at the immigration in the airport..
"How many times have you been to Ireland?"
"Do you like being in Ireland?"
"Do you have any Irish relations?"
"Let me show you a youtube clip of Ireland, and I want you to name the locations?"

Looks as if Christy has "borrowed' heavily from The Beatles for this song.
