Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Unfortunately for Drumm the Americans won't be gullible enough to believe it, or spineless enough to accept it.

If he came back to Ireland could he be brought to court?

And if yes why isnt he extradited.

Overhere isn't Overthere. He's going to find that such blatant bulsh1tery won't wash in a country where he isn't part of a golden circle.

Thread title is a bit miss leading. He didn't forget he transferred the money, he "forgot" to properly disclose it for the purposes of his bankruptcy trial. He also seems to claim that he didn't think he needed to disclose them at the time. Either way he looks a right plonker and I don't think the yanks will swallow his bull**** like our financial system did.

Big mistake for the smug little b@stard not to come home and face no justice from his corrupt elite friends in this tin pot republic

I will start the bidding at 10 years American fraud style

Something tells me his experience (if he does get a custodial sentence) will be a plush low-security prison.

Say people with little money. The likes of him count every penny and never forget. He's a lying, thieving scumbag.

Not what the ''get him raped in a cell and general prison torture fans" want to hear, but I'm fairly sure he can't actually get a prison sentence out of this.

Its a bankruptcy trial, not a criminal trial.
All the court will do is decide if his bankruptcy can be finalised or not, and can give financial penalties against him if they find he broke any rules.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,812 ✭✭✭✭evolving_doors

I don't know what a tracker mortgage is!

    Said mr. drumm,

to be fair to the poor fella he probably never had a mortgage himself.

    Nope.

He will have his bankruptcy reversed and given his profile you can be sure they will start criminal proceedings. Then it's up to five years per offence, and he "forgot" a few.

Bet he wishes he came home and got let off by a jury now.

So you agree that this current trial can have no custodial outcome - which is all I was saying?
Down the line there may obviously be a criminal trial for related offences.

The crimes he's accused of in Ireland aren't considered crimes in the US. Therefore, it's not possible for a US court to grant extradition.

His entire defence seems to be based along the lines of "I didn't understand it."

To try and claim that, as Charted Accountant with experience in Big 4 and working in venture capital, he didn't really understand what was required in the bankruptcy forms is pretty pathetic, and I'm sure the US courts will see it as that.

I found a tenner that I'd forgotten about in my jeans pocket last week, easy enough mistake to make.

In his arrogance and hubris, it would appear that Mr. Drumm stepped into the deep-end and well out of his depth. We in da Red-Light district. 'Cuffs, orange jumpsuit and Fed Pen, quare lively.

I hope he is done for fraud on US soil, remember Bernie Madoff got 130 years, Ken Lay of Enron got 110 years, the Yanks don't piss about with white collar crime, if you defraud them they'll fcuk you over. The Yanks can give Irish people Justice in a way that the Irish system can not or will not. I'd say Drumm is hoping to fcuk he gets extradited at this stage after seeing Sean Fitzpatrick walking a free man, I hope the Americans arrest him for making fraudulent statements on his bankruptcy application, then the fireworks will really begin.

Sure she probably found the moolah is his shirt pocket when she was ironing it and said oh that must be for me and that is why it completely slipped his mind.

Seems quite a few ladies got moolah off the hubby recently for providing love and companionship and children.......;)

    Here is his defense

Mr Mack, for Mr Drumm, said that the judge would see the case against his client was “a lot of bluster and argument but short of true evidentiary substance.”

If he's ever extradited to Ireland he'll be in for some serious punishment, 5 years banged up in the Westbury Hotel, and 400 hours community service on the Miss World pageant nipple tweaking team. Serves him right!
