afaik they have cancelled many flights, so even if strike is called off, the flight won't go if its been cancelled already.

Hadn't realised that all flights cancelled anyway, had stupidly thought that if strike called off , flights would go ahead as normal , thanks

But if strike was not called off and they had not cancelled flights, then they would probably have to pay for other staff, landing slots, desk service etc etc that day. By giving 2 weeks notice, they don;t have all those expenses and means customers are not wondering "if".

Gives a lot of absolute certainty.
