cold water header tank and attic toilet

    hiya,

    i'm planning a bungalow renovation where we intend to have an upstairs toilet.

    i am hoping to feed this toilet cistern from a raised cold water header tank.

    do you guys have any advise on doing this or whether it is possible at all?

    some particular queries i had are -
    1) how high would the header tank need to be above the toilet cistern?
    2) would any particular cisterns or cistern fill valves be better?

    Try and get the tank as high as practically possible. Use a low pressure ballcock with the toilet cistern and put in the red cone shaped insert that comes with it. That way it'll fill a little faster. If fitting a basin, avoid using monoblock taps that have flexible hoses coming out of them. Get a basin that has seperate hot and cold taps with a 1/2" inlet.

    what low pressure ballcocks have you guys used or provide the best flow rate?
    also, would these be side or bottom entry (or would this make a difference)?

    Don't know of any makes to be honest. Side or bottom doesn't matter. Just ask the guy in the shop for the ones that you can put in the red shaped cone for faster filling
