Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Would it cost €20 per ton for transport to Limerick? Are they big or small bags, 1 pallet or a load mahoney, delivered or collected? I think we need to be more specific with our quotes.

They tell us the margins are tight in fertiliser, but with oil prices down this year, fert prices esp urea should be a lot lower this year, even the diesel used to transport it is cheaper this year, what about UK or European prices, or N Ireland prices to compare?

Have got the likes of 10/15t of fertiliser delivered directly from Cork before when ordering it from Glanbia etc.

18-6-12 would seem to be the best value there

The thing about oil prices is often companies that use a lot of oil (take Ryanair as an example) tend to lock in to a price when they perceive that they see value. This means that the oil they used to make the urea you are buying is not as cheap as you think. Often the value is asoil gets more expensive companies can lock in at lower prices.

18.6.12 is nearly always the best price NPK fertlizer you can buy. However we tend to be frightened to use UREA because of evaporation losses UREA. If your NPK is high why would you be spreading more.

those contracts would normally be 6 months long or so, shorter if a fall is suspected and longer in a rise is on the cards
with one oil drop last july and another in nov you'd expect that to be reflected in the prices of artificial

I think this is Bullsh1te. Raw material costs for potash fell last year, where is the price drop?
We are the only ones buying fertiliser, prices we are getting for most of what we produce is at an all time low, I think it's time we put a bit of pressure on someone supplying us for a change.

There is a fertiliser cartel going on. Just ask the small suppliers.

18 6 12 , quoted €405 a tonne from 3 different suppliers, Dairygold, Kerry and a independent retailer, in Midwest. Paid upfront and collected from their yard. Not much appearant competition from where I'm standing.

As far as I know most of the main players sell it. Its generally used when setting maize. (not that I'd be setting maize!!) Think it's called maize starter.
Enquired here and from rep and still don't have an idea of price.
