The point of the game is pretty simple. In a PM to me, answer each of the 10 questions below. You must give a correct answer.

Try to think of a correct answer that you think no one else will give. You get 100 points for each unique answer. The points are split when people give the same answer.

Remember, there's no need to reply within minutes of the quiz being posted and there's no problem with using Google to check your reply.

Name an island named after an animal or an island that has an animal in its name

Name a national leader that was assassinated in the 20th century

Name a country that has won the Eurovision Song Contest between the years 2004-2014 (inclusive)

Name one of Ireland's Gaelic Games

Name a stout brewed in Ireland

Name a car manufacturer from South Korea

Name a tribe of Native American Indians

Name a type of dry pasta

Name a current male European monarch.

Name a war fought by the State of Israel

If you need to comment or clarify a question then do it in thread please. And if you could reply once you've sent a PM it'd keep the thread alive Thanks!

With zero incorrect answers and 6 unique answers, the winner is SpatialPlanning

    spacialplanning 800
    Stereomatic 750
    Eeden 650
    Edser 600

    1. Name an island named after an animal or an island that has an animal in its name

    Bull Island
    Anguilla
    Beaver Island
    Tasmania

I made a mistake with this question not meaning to add the "or an island that has an animal in its name" part as I was hoping that someone would say 'Tasmania' which is not named after an animal but is named after the explorer, Abel Tasman, the first European to discover it. Oh well... :)

    2. Name a national leader that was assassinated in the 20th century

Franz was never a 'national leader' but died as heir to the throne.

    Franz Ferdinand
    Anwar Sadat
    Olaf Palme x 2

    3. Name a country that has won the Eurovision Song Contest between the years 2004-2014 (inclusive)

    Greece x 2
    Ukraine
    Serbia

    4. Name one of Ireland's Gaelic Games

    Handball x 2
    Rounders x 2

I love it when no one gives the most obvious answer(s) :)

    5. Name a stout brewed in Ireland

    Beamish x 2
    Oyster Stout (Porter House)
Buried At Sea (Galway Bay Brewery)

    6. Name a car manufacturer from South Korea

    Kia x 2
    Daewoo
    Tata Daewoo

Tata Daewoo doesn't actually manufacture cars but instead produces trucks for the commercial market.

    7. Name a tribe of Native American Indians

    Comanche
    Guarani
    Navajo
    Potawatomi

Guarani was the only answer submitted which referred to a tribe not from the USA. A correct answer from either modern-day Canada or central/south America was acceptable to me.

    8. Name a type of dry pasta

    Fusilli
    Lasagne sheets
    Tortellini
    Strozzapreti

No need to specific 'sheets' as lasagne refers to the pasta as well as the dish.

    9. Name a current male European monarch.

    Albert of Monaco x 2
    King Harald V x 2

No love for the Pope! :)

    10. Name a war fought by the State of Israel

    Six Day war x 2
    Sinai War x 2

With about 7 to choose from it's interesting that only 2 unique answers were given.

So thanks to the 4 who entered and to SpatialPlanning for winning !

    My answers were;

    Anguilla
Olaf Palme (I said by mistake Oscar Palme):o
    Ukraine
    Rounders
    Beamish:confused:
    Daewoo
    Guarani
    :pac: Lasagne
    Harald V
    6 days war

    I think I shouldn't have revealed my mistake ;)

    Oh yeah! What's Strozzapreti?

Olaf Palme (I said by mistake Oscar Palme)

I knew who you meant so gave you the points anyhow :)
    Oh yeah! What's Strozzapreti?

I don't think I've seen them much in Ireland. It's a long pasta which tastes slightly 'doughy'.

I heard that the name means "strangle the priest", because the poor people would get so annoyed by greedy priests eating all their food, they would wish that they might choke on it. Not sure about this! ;):D
