Actually I seem to have some vague memory that it had something to do with the type of tape you used? And couldn't you record over anything if you removed a sticker covering a safety hole on the tape?

Good times. Trying to wait for your song on the radio was gas, and at the end of the day you'd have the perfect radio station mixtape.

There was a little plastic thing that had to be there for you to be able to record, but you could always fool that with some cellotape. Good times...

WHERE IS .AK'S PROMISED AGONY AUNT THREAD

    Dear thomond2006,

Thanks for writing in, I appreciate your time and for seeking my advice. A lot of posters often seek sound advise, especially in these times when coaches for the national team are making some absolutely daft decision. But stay calm, stay collected, as my advice would this; if you're looking for an agony aunt thread then your best bet is to PM justsomebloke. If he doesn't reply within 10 seconds try again. If again he doesn't reply, try again. Repeat this process, taking a second off the response time upon repeat.

    Yours truly,
    .ak

Hahaha, I've never heard a reasonable explanation as to why you had to hold down both the record and play button when looking to record something. Oh if only young people today knew...

The worst thing EVER was when you knew a song was coming up, had the tape ready to go, press record+play... and then realised you'd forgotten to cover the safety holes on the tape so it wouldn't let you record. ARGH!

I used to put two tapes recorded together to make a copy of the tape, one of them playing and the other recording. It sounded horrific. You could hear me making noises in the background. I had no concept of sound quality at that age.

I used to do that as a cheap way to multitrack record guitar, vocals and drums separately. Didn't work toooo bad.

The igonminy of standing in a woman's underwear section looking for a slip.

It really isn't a good look for a man to be standing sheepishly looking around a woman's underwear department...

    "can i help you?"

    "i need a slip"

    "what colour?"

    "i don't know"

    "what size"

    "what colour is the dress"

    "ehhhh"

    "let me guess...you don't know"

    "ehhh yes"

Apparently it's a thing that women wear under a dress so you can't see their knickers.

As the fat comic book guy in the simpsons would say "worst invention ever"

Kanye is to music what Joseph Fritzel is to good parenting imo, he's probably got a better relationship with autotune than his missus.
