Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    http://www.brewdog.com/about

There's good info there on what Brew Dog are all about.

But yeah, what I actually really like about them is not their beer so much as that in their bar they have awesome guest beers. So you can be drinking a random ale from thousands of miles away that you realistically never would have got the chance to otherwise.

Only been to Against The Grain on Wexford street, but thought there was a nice selection in there. Will have to try the others when I'm back.

    Never even heard of it!

Basically an old man pub meets rock bar where the name of the game is the drink copious amounts of alcohol whilst listening to all sorts of rock from metal to trash and then do something like puke in someone's hat and then be lauded as some sort of hero for the night.

Anyone else here drink Bucky? I think it's my favorite alcoholic beverage. They sell it in pubs in Galway by the glass so I hear

I've only ever seen it in the twister pepper in Dublin

    Buckfast? :pac:

You can get it up home on the optics.

It's a favourite drink of alcos and tramps. :p

Gives you a mad hangover, and wicked sh!tes the next day.

You can also buy it in naggins up home.

About 7 or 8 years ago it was really at it's boom. You'd be lucky to get into a place on a thursday. It didn't help I practically lived right next door.

Once brought 3 bottles of bucky to a festival... they were gone on day one. I think that put me off it for life.

Emergency services saw a 30% increase in demand on Arthur's Day last year. Reason enough for it to **** away off.

In fairness you can't blame Diageo or Guinness for the fact that so many Irish people are crap drinkers. By which I mean they drink so much they either require emergency services or do something to themselves or someone else that requires emergency services. People need to take responsibility for themselves on Arthurs Day and if they can't do that it's their own fault. Nobody else's.

i've been drinking for approx 8 years and never have been involved in an incident where the emergency services were required.. is it that common?

I would suggest going in to one of their bars some day when you get a chance. The one in Camden in London is the one I like. Then tell them what you like and they'll find you something, not necessarilly a BrewDog beer. The great thing about those places is that the bar staff are generally very sharp on their beers.

I'm surprised there isn't a BrewDog in Dublin yet actually!

We'll have to make do with a Weatherspoons for now. I'd say the problem the likes of Brewdog setting up here lies in a)The general public's love of Diageo products and b)The frankly dodgy cartel-like operations of the likes of the VFI

How are you still alive!?:P

3 euro for a bottle of the 8% Kopperberg there back in the day was my downfall there. It doesn't seem the same since they've done it up though. Part of the charm was how dingy it was :P

After 8 straight years of drinking you may want to sober up.

It's your priority on the waiver wire. From when each player plays their game until tomorrow morning if you add a player you have to go through waivers. Basically if two people try and add the same player than the player with the higher waiver priority gets them. Once you have picked someone up you drop to the bottom of the queue for waiver priority. The priority is decided each week as the reverse order of the standings so mine is disgustingly high.

It helps keep teams even and also means if a player has a stellar breakout performance than its not just the quickest to a computer who gets him! After tomorrow morning you can add players immediately.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 27,342 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

I'd consider that. Let me know tomorrow!

Wankistan. I was going to keep Cameron and just play him as my flex. Alas, I set up the flex position to only allow RBs and WRs.

    I'm still thinking :P

Is there any points difference from WR1/WR2 and W/R.

It advised me not to play a certain player as my WR1 but rather WR2....

    Nope.

The point is just that your WR1 should be your top scoring WR, so if you're me having Vincent Jackson as your WR2 is fine as he sometimes scores big but is inconsistent, but you want a player who is as close to guaranteed points as possible as your WR1 (in my case Bryant). It's just a rating thing. When they say he's a WR2 they mean you shouldn't be relying on him to be your best WR.

Of course I'm 1-2 against you ****ers so what do I know :P

I am aware of that, but I'm reluctant to trade for a RB when my TE has accumulated more points than him! I'm going to wait til the end of waivers and then sort out an offer.

Over in the NFL, Josh Freeman has been benched by the Bucs. Mildly interesting to some I'm sure.

It's definitely an escalation, especially if it's in front of a live audience but they've done stuff like this before in The Sex Inspectors which can get relatively racy for regular TV.

I'm in the same boat so as to speak. Painful viewing for NZ, fairplay to the Yanks that was some comeback from 1-8 down. It's a rich man's sport, and NZ could put the money to better use than funding a yacht IMO.

Those boats are mega fast though, must be a thrilling ride.
