Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ya, it's the best soccer game I've seen in a while bar the usual theatrics though

Have Dortmund in a trble with Leinster and Carl Froch so hope they can sneak one

As soccer matches go its not the worst but hard to beat the excitement of the afternoon.

What do people want to see as the new Olympic sport? The options are
    • Baseball/softball
    • Karate
    • Roller sports
    • Sports climbing
    • Squash
    • Wakeboarding
    • Wrestling
    • Wushu (kung fu)
I'm hoping squash gets the nod

Squash isn't already in there? Also wrestling isn't? One of the original Olympic sports? Have to say that surprises me.

Wrestling should be there already, so I hope it gets back in.

Roller sports or baseball after that.

Should aim as much as possible to get it from whole foods though. I supplement when needs be (and for easy protein after a gym session, hard to chug a tin of tuna!), but tidying up your diet and protein sources will make a far bigger difference than simply taking additional protein on top of a bad diet.

And wrestling, squash and baseball have got thru the first hurdle...

I'm kind of sympathetic to wrestling, cos it's one of the originals, but it would be nice to have squash there. I mean, BMX racing...?

You'd be surprised. One of my mates is on the Irish national team. The current world champions are Holland. Obviously not a hugely popular sport worldwide but sports like squash and wrestling are serious minority sports in large parts of the world too.

Holland? Well I'll be darned. Learn something every day! I didn't know Ireland had a baseball team - no doubt NZ does, it'll be the highly original Black-somethings.

It lasted all of about 5 minutes. Then got laughed out of town. You can imagine some swanky marketing agency coming up with the name, and then, well, not thinking it through "hard" enough.

But yes, for a brief period the men's badminton team were the NZ Black Cocks :o

Congratulations. It's a simple enough thing but it's a seminal moment. You can now look condescendingly at your friends who are yet to have their full license.

I'm convinced that the driving test is a huge matter of pot luck. Depends on the examiner you get, the route they take, the mood they're in and the traffic you encounter.

This was my third time, I had to get this time or I don't know what I would have done! Between getting lessons and paying for the test, it all adds up.

This was my third time, I had to get this time or I don't know what I would have done! Between getting lessons and paying for the test, it all adds up.

With the required number of lessons now, it's a costly business. I got mine first time around but the instructor brought me all the way back to my own road and around there, completely coincidentally. I was totally at ease for the entire thing.

The only time I got faults is when I tried to change gear and the stick wasn't being helpful. My hand slipped off the stick and brushed off his thigh. He looked at me, marked a fault and said "Proceed back to the test centre".

In closing, make an inappropriate move on your instructor. If they like it, you pass. If they don't like it, they'll pass you to get out of the car.
