Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If I could get to a gym before hand I would probably nearly finish it.

The £5 back isn't worth it for the devil spawn mushrooms

Sweet pancakes with a fry? Blasphemy.

To be honest, after about 3 sausages and 2 bits of toast I'd be beat.

But I have a figure to maintain :P

You've made me so hungry...thanks awec

I'm considering doing a challenge of my own during the week.

French stick, 5 jumbo sausages, 5 rashers, 6 white pudding, 6 black pudding, half a tin of beans. Pot of tea.

If I do it, I'll be so proud.

How many on here would fancy their chances at getting through that in one sitting, withing the 45 minute limit? :D

    I'd do two.

You need the beans for the moisture.

I think that rashers are often done badly in restaurants, it's weird.....I hate when they're too salty, or dry, or stringy. But a good rasher cooked properly....so good.

Why not? If you've never eaten them :P they provide a nice balance with a fry.

Showed it to the wife....same question - what's to the left of the sausages?

Only a true nordie can recognise pancakes, soda farls, "perdie" bread.

Seems to be missing vegetable/onion roll.

Anyone watch Boardwalk Empire? The season finale was immense. Possibly just overtook Breaking Bad as my favourite TV show

Yep watched it, and loved it. Have to say the holy trinity of tv shows (Sopranos, Wire, Breaking Bad) is not a trinity anymore. Fantastic show.
What a send off for Harrow, one of the saddest yet most prefect death scenes I can remember

  • Administrators Posts: 54,110 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

I watched the first 5 or 6 episodes of Boardwalk Empire in season 1 and couldn't get into it.

I keep asking myself if I'll get into BE. Nobody has convinced me so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,772 ✭✭✭P.Walnuts

Honestly lads , I gave up watching it for a year towards the end of season 2, it was all very boring. I even didn't watch the finale.

So I wiki'd the end of season 2 and started fresh on season 3 about a month ago and haven't looked back. For me it focuses alot less on crooked politics and voting and all that boring stuff, it shifts almost entirely to wars between the different mobs. Some great new characters, well worth giving it a shot.

I watched the first few episodes and got bored of it. However I loved the acting and the 'feel' of it, and I'm actually eager to get stuck into it again.

For a laugh I'm watching The Event at the moment. An absolute car-crash of a TV program, it's so American and far fetched it's gas. It's supposed to be serious SCI-FI kinda thriller but myself and the missus just find it hilarious.

Watching Love Hate at the moment, two episodes in and it's not great if I'm being honest. I always find that I notice poor acting a lot more in Irish programs because of my familiarity with the accents

The first series isn't great (so I'm told). Apparently it gets very good in 2 and 3.

Yea I really want to get in to Boardwalk. I have season 1 on bluray.

The episodes are very long though.

I found season 1/2 of Boardwalk somewhat slow. I only got through it because I was sick one weekend

Season 1 is poor enough, very ropey. Season 2 and 3 improve almost beyond recognition

Walking Dead isn't as good as it was, but I still rate it very highly. You only get a real appreciation for the level of character development if you go back and watch the earlier seasons again. Too many TV shows have characters that don't change despite what happens to them.

Anyone know when GoTs is due back on the telebox?

Early 2014 in the US I think.

    It's usually around March/April.

Can't wait. In my top 3 of TV shows. (After the Wire and Band of Brothers)
