Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So now that I'm officially the most loved person on the rugby forum I think you should all call me 'Dear Leader' and genuflect, possibly with some sort of cash donation.

    That's how it works right?

First time I've had internet in 2 days... still no power at home, no telephone :(

I have never seen anything like the weather on Wednesday, I know Ireland gets pretty mild weather... but I'm happy with that- this extreme stuff doesn't suit me.

BTW I'm pretty sure the way the love thing works is it takes into account how often someone quotes you or likes your posts, but it excludes anyone who is on your friends list.

Systems in work broke. We thought we were having a quiet day, a couple of dude took the night off to hang out with their girlfriends... now our system is fixed and we've found days of work that needs to be done tonight by a skeleton team. I'm going to smash my head against a wall.

Confronted by a poll which includes people I don't know, I expect that I'm expected to Google them. Nope, I'll just vote for them and save the bull****.

So which one should I vote for?

Also, I rarely thank posts so I don't appear on any of your lists.

    But I love you all.

Except Swiwi. That guy's an asshole.

I'll never forgive you for the November ABs game

Does anyone here have any experience with USA summer camp agencies (placement agencies essentially)? Im thinking of applying to work at these kids adventure camps for this summer but Ive heard such mixed opinions on them. Ive been looking at quite a few different ones

Any of yee rugby heads coached with these sort of camps before?

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 18,219 Mod ✭✭✭✭CatFromHue

Only from the movies I'm afraid.

You could have a look through the USA forum on here though

Thanks for that! I must have a look there!

I was trying to avoid advice from too many travel forums (outside of boards) because I was reading another one where a few posters were actually reps for the agencies pretending to be students who'd done it with their agency. Caused a **** storm :P

I've a bit of experience with them. I never actually followed through with going to work with them but I did toy with the idea. I've gone through the application procedure if that's any use to you!

I did summer camp work in Spain though. Is your heart set on the states?

I wondered why my son was spending so much time watching Curling at the Olympics.

Hey thanks! I think the main reason i want to do it in the states is because as a student I can get a J1 visa and would like to make the most of it.

Which agency did you apply with? Did they seem well organised/any good?

Has there been any mentions of Neil Francis' recent homophobic comments? I love the irony of an infamously work-shy dinosaur such as himself saying that gay people don't play rugby because it's too manly.

Did he actually say that though?

I thought it was more along the lines of in his experience gay guys don't like sport.

Francis was all over the place in that audio, constantly stuttering. Making it up as he went along...
