    Its back!!

The wait is over. On 8 June, Soccer Aid 2014 will bring together football legends, supporters and celebrities for a football match to help save and change children's lives around the world.

The two Soccer Aid teams, made up of Hollywood A-listers, football legends and some of the UK’s most famous faces, will battle it out for the prestigious Soccer Aid trophy.

This year's Soccer Aid line up:

    ENGLAND

    Sam Allardyce (Manager)

    Robbie Williams (Assistant Manager)
    Peter Reid (Coach)
    Bradley Walsh (Coach)

    The celebrities

    Jack Whitehall
    Mark Owen
    Olly Murs
    Paddy McGuinness
    Jonathan Wilkes
    Jamie Theakston

    John Bishop
    Marvin Humes
    Dominic Cooper
    Danny Jones

    The legends

    Jamie Carragher
    Teddy Sheringham
    Jamie Redknapp
    David Seaman
    Matt Le Tissier
    Des Walker

    REST OF THE WORLD

    José Mourinho (Manager)

    The celebrities

    Michael Sheen (Captain)
    Gordon Ramsay
    Adam Richman
    James McAvoy
    Patrick Kielty
    Nicky Byrne
    Santiago Cabrera
    Jeremy Renner
    Kevin Bridges

    Martin Compston

    The legends

    Alessandro Del Piero
    Andriy Shevchenko

This is always a good laugh. Looking at the squads, the Rest of the World look much better. Their legends are better and Nicky Byrne and Gordon Ramsey are very handy.

Ramsay gets absolutely clobbered every time he plays. Nick Byrne is probably the best.

A squad with all these in it would have been near unbeatable 15 years ago.

Ralph Little played at a high enough non-league standard in England for a good few years

The England team has the same faces every year but the ROW team legends are incredible. I remember Gordon Ramsay being completely pole-axed by Teddy Sheringham last time. Had to go to hospital and everything.

    Always enjoy this, good craic.

And, for your viewing pleasure, probably the best soccer aid goal of all by Kasabians Sergio Pizzorno. Love it.

If I remember correctly Nicky Byrne had trials for Leeds united . So I would say he is the best of the celebrity players .

Byrne was a goalie though wasnt he?

Yer man Wilkes only ever seems to do these things. No Damien Lewis is dissapointing, he clattered Zidane one year and got the "they haven't come to see you, calm down" line from Redknapp.

You are right he was a goalie . A quick google search showed me that .

This game and the show that goes along with it is weirdly entertaining. I think it's seeing the former pros against normal people that makes it interesting. You get to see how good the pros are, even when they're well past their best.

My favourite moment along with the zidane nutmeg and the guy from Kasabian's peach of a goal. No one was expecting for Woody to score and he looked over the moon when he did.

Still the best of the Soccer Aid matches by a good distance was that 2010 match, it was actually pretty damn good match and the peno shoot out had you gripped, better then nearly all the matches at World Cup in 2010, check it out on youtube it's well worth a watch. well having players like Zidane, Giggs, Larsson and Figo on the pitch was amazing too. but the moment apart from Woody scoring the winning peno was this. poor Damien Lewis :pac:

I like it when it's taken somewhat serious, which is why 2010 was the best match to date, you could see both teams were all out to win it. All though the line up this year isn't that impressive, here's hoping it's a entertaining match.

The band boy member's and pop singers are usual pretty damn good and are the best out of the non footballers, Olly Murs one year was the best player on park he was the only one who looked a legit threat for the English team and the lad from Mcfly made a lethal partnership with Shearer and Sheringham, he laid on a few of their goals. One a peach of a ball onto Shearer's head for a beautiful head

Some of the matches are actually pretty good, 2010 especially as some of celeb's were getting a bit feisty in the tackles and it had some awesome ex pro's and a pro still playing in Ryan Giggs . I had it in my top 10 matches of the Summer as World cup 2010, I would take that Soccer Aid match over nearly 70% of the matches at that World Cup. It was entertaining and the peno shoot out was great stuff. I like that they don't let the ex pro's take peno's.

The last match wasn't great although it had Serge's from Kasabian wonder goal but England had it won early enough.

Not too impressed with the line up, but seen as it's for Charity it's all about making money rather then been picky about the ex players and celeb's they got.

Without looking at Wikipedia, all I know him for is for these football games and being Robbie Williams mate (which is the only reason he gets these things)

Ya goalscorer betting would be good on this, took ROTW in a treble at 23/20 earlier, far better team of legends starting.
