Great idea on the poll. Future fixture? Though easy to say when someone else doing the work. I bravely chose Quintana.

Uran for me, the gradients aren't steep enough for Quintana's pure climbing legs, i reckon urans power will just about do it, Quintana for Saturdays stage and the overall though.

I've gone for Aru, I think he's the most determined to push for a GC podium spot and this is his opportunity not to be shackled by the peloton, in my humble opinion..:)

Quintana should eat them alive here if he wants. I think Aru will be his biggest danger, Rodgers and Arredondo are my 2 outsiders.

on the route map why are there 2 routes in red and yellow?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,606 ✭✭✭MPFG

I think Hesjedal has ridden a great Giro ....He has come from way back after losing in TTT and with a very reduced team and he is within spitting distance of the podium
If team had not lost 3 + minutes in TTT he would be on the podium

I know he is not a pure climber like the Colombians or the young guns but you have to admire his resilience and never say die attitude

Going to see a mix of road bikes and TT bikes today. Majka's on road bike all the way through, Kiserlovski is going to switch bikes at the bottom of the climb.

Guessing the yellow one is a service road for the vehicles and riders to make their way back down?

Seems mad to change bike. The flat bit is only 7km. Hard to see him gaining enough time to justify the change.

Yeah I think taking a road bike from the start is the only way. I don't think this TT is long enough for Quintana. Uran to win it, but not by enough.

The cyclists are playing tennis again on Eurosport, whatever that's about.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,001 ✭✭✭simonrooneyzaga

is that it so?No chance until Federer puts this lad away?

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,054 ✭✭✭✭neris

eurosport can put on 6 or 7 channels of tennis but cant get a channel to broadcast the cycling with commentary on

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Live coverage has stared on eurosport player, without commentary.

Maybe it's a new kind of triathlon. More controversy ahead. "If we'd known there was going to be tennis involved, we'd have had our cyclists out practising."

Actually in the menu on the right of On Now, there's about 10 options and second last has the cycling live without commentary. Doesn't look like much of relevance happening. Average race speeds of less than 20kmh. I could do better than that.

no commentary??? Whose making the calculations?!

    Eurosport Twitter:

"Apologies for the delay on getting to the Giro, we will join the cycling live on BE1 after the Djokovic match, Federer will move to BE2"

Djokovic 2-0 up with the 3rd 5-6 probably going to a tiebreak.. FFS!!
