Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Patience should have been listed as one of those 6 competencies... seriously. I'm so over the lack of information and apparent disorganisation of this entire campaign. I hope to god they let us know before the weekend!!! :-/

Bit of a nightmare alright... imagine being on the last waiting list ;)

Although its all prep for waiting around. You could be stationed in a station that has a few embassies and you might have to do a post on them. Or the dail. Or the Aras. I guess its all part of the job. Waiting..... waiting..... tick tock tick tock

This thread should be renamed 'LIMBO'

    Painful limbo

Hopefully we will know soon enough.
By the sounds of things, HR are ready to go, they're just waiting on a final decision re the date. That's pretty much all we know. Also, they're bringing a second tranche through to stage 3, which means that they must be expecting a move very soon.

If i was a betting woman... i'd put my money on Friday week, the 11th, for the results. Earlier would be class, but doubtful.

Hopefully my prediction will come true! :-)

Exactly! I wouldn't read too much in to Irish Press releases, tbh. They're probably getting half their hearsay notions from reading this forum! :-P

Rang HRM today. Story remains the same, they don't know themselves if July 21st is going to happen, waiting on word from above.

Dont be expecting an email today anyway folks by the looks of things.

I hope you're right. Just knowing the start date, whatever it may be, would be a weight off of the mind.

Are all the backround checkes back and cleared ? Or is there any way of finding out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 205 ✭✭Shifty13

Id say we should start looking at the possibility of starting the 4th, 11th or 18th of August, because there is no way its going to be the 21st!

Word coming from college is instructors only been given jobs in college this week. It will take weeks to train them for the course. Most of the kitchen staff and cleaning staff are on leave in august.

It could be September or October by the time the college is ready.

Sergeants list out today, those transferring to the college starting on the 2nd of September, bullsh***r indeed!

  • Registered Users Posts: 211 ✭✭galalala123

Thats probably when we'll start too they'll probably have to train them in until then.

Sorry, I'm a bit ignorant. What are the implications for us on this one?

Cause they'll be the ones to train us so they'll have to be there first.

I wonder would they need to be down there to get trained for a few weeks before we arrive?

100% They will because most of them have never worked as instructors and its a new training programme.

I can understand the funding issue but if the plan was the 21st how can they still not have trained the trainers? It's not like it was something unforeseen or unexpected??

I'd say the intake could be put back until AGS gets it's supplementary budget. The waiting game continues but at least we're on the panel :)

Don't think there's any date set, but before the current budget runs out entirely you'd hope!

Early September for start date seems most likely now. Suits me to the ground but would still like the confirmation email.

Better than I thought. Partial tear of the cruciate but no surgery needed and back running in 5 weeks. So I'm happy for the delay :D thanks for asking

Same with my mother in law but I think she gave up after the physical! If I don't get in I'm going for divorce and I'll take half the farm in revenge for her giving up!
